And Mahomes is a force multiplier but eventually you hit a tipping point where you're asking him to multiply by zero. I don't think he needs a super-team to win a championship. This is such a good point to the "have to go all in on the rookie deal group". I just want everyone in that group to understand that years 3-5 are hurt badly by going all-in now. It's already gonna be hard in those years, but going all-in now may make it impossible. Great QB's win with solid teams around them (see Pats, 2018). As tempting as it is to want to trade picks for players and max out cap now to make a run, understand we have a 15-year time horizon right now, not 2. That also doesn't mean we shouldn't maneuver ourselves into position to compete for the next 2 years because it is easier now than it will be once Mahomes is paid. Gotta be a balance

But there's a difference between the Packers (who essentially never do anything) and locking half your cap into 4 players.
