Geno Smith fans roll call

NEW THREAD HEADER (11/17/12):

The list is gone. We will all be Geno Smith fans when he gets drafted by the Chiefs. For historical documentation's sake, I'll keep the list in a separate post on this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=3314

WHY GENO SMITH?
If you're wondering if Geno Smith is right for you, check out this brilliant post by Saccopoo:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5388

Next, we have a few GIFs you may be interested in from the Oklahoma game. Insane potential. These are the elite throws that very few QBs can make. What more can I say? Geno Smith can be a franchise QB in the NFL, and the Chiefs need to take a shot on him.

GIF #1:
Spoiler!

GIF #2:
Spoiler!

GIF #3 (My favorite):
Spoiler!

HOW DO WE GET HIM HERE?

Glad you asked. I posted this checklist earlier. It probably belongs in the thread header, and will be updated as the Chiefs close out their season and start a new chapter in their franchise story.

Preparing for Geno Smith's Arrival In KC Checklist

1. [X] Lose games and acquire the #1 overall pick
2. [X] Get Pioli and the Patriot Way cronies the **** out
3. [X] Hire new GM/coach

OPTIONAL (but highly recommended):
4. [ ] Re-sign/tag Bowe, who really wants to play in KC with Geno
5. [ ] Re-sign/tag Albert

He reportedly has a very high football IQ. My own personal opinion is that his biggest decision-making issue is that at times he tries to fit the ball into windows that just aren't advisable. There are a few things I don't like - sometimes his mechanics aren't solid and he hold onto the ball too long.

He's just got a metric shit ton of upside. Guys with his type of accuracy don't come along every day.

No - his attitude. Does he get frustrated when things don't go right? How is he going to react if he does not experience success right away? Can he pull himself up? Is he mentally styrong? THIS is what I'm concerned about. Talent-wise you're spot on.

That changed the game. That's via PFF, and those were the passes that hit guys right in both hands. They just dropped them because of contact.
But on at least 2 of those that I can recall, he led his WR right into an absolute monster of a hit.

If he had Cassel on the back of his jersey, nobody would have defended that outing. He got a few guys absolutely destroyed, he was firing erratically all day and seemed to truly be rattled at times.

He made one of the better plays I've seen this year on a simple screen, though. The screen was covered and rather than panic, he made a pump fake to get the DE in the air, then pitched it right over him after he landed. It was a very heady, instinctive play that most QBs don't make. They tend to think of a screen as this rapid-fire, panic play where if it is diagnosed, you're ****ed. Well that one got diagnosed and Luck smartly kept his wits about him and saved the play.

You saw some flashes of what will make him an elite QB, but in the end it really was a bad day for Luck.

After watching even more footage...If he's not the consensus number one overall player or at least in the disussion in this draft, it's a crime. We need this guy.

Stedman Bailey highlights with Geno making all the throws.

Watch the play at the 1:20 mark. Geno runs through all the progressions before finding Bailey for the TD.

That corner pass against NC State's David Amerson is sick as well when he's got two guys hanging on him.

I'm truly amazed that there is any criticism of this guy. He's about as good as it gets for a QB at this level and the upside is utterly ridiculous.

Half of these idiots will swap sides as soon as Mayock or Kiper hop on Geno's nutsack right before the draft.

John Clayton said Romeo will get canned probably Monday or Tuesday. He also said the Jags and Chiefs have to decide if they want to reach in the draft or get a vet. He said they'll likely look to the Jets in 09 when they reached for Sanchez and how bad that turned out. The possibility is there that we won't draft a QB high.

He said nothing about Pioli getting fired.
