You have to factor in the new scheme as well. Honestly, we were 31st on D last year. My God, it could get so much worse! We could drop to 32nd! The horror!

Imagine last years defense with no pass rush...

The only thing more valuable than pass rushers in the NFL are quarterbacks. If Ford were an elite pass rusher, he'd have brought a lot more than third round value.

See how stupid that logic is???

Your value is reflected in how you are paid. Ford is getting paid like an elite pass rusher. There is a reason the Chiefs tagged him...

But his track record wasn't elite, it was pedestrian. It might have been worth the $16 million risk to keep him another year and hope he duplicated 2018. But if the organization decided it wanted to move on then what was the point? He had arguably the best season he will ever have and the defense totally sucked.

Top that off by the fact he cost us a trip to the super bowl by committing a stupid mental error that he has been guilty of committing time and time again. Discipline, durability, and consistency are three traits Ford doesn't possess.

I wouldn't have had an issue if they kept him one more year and I don't have an issue that they chose to move on. The fact that they moved on tells us that they have other plans. You don't have to like the decision they made but based on Ford's track record you can't act like keeping him one more year was a no-brainer and trading him was stupid.

Wouldn't have been much different. Every good QB and mediocre QB had their best game against us. Pass rush is overrated as being important. Best pass rush in the league did nothing to help our defense over and over again.

IF Shane Ray is healthy, he’d be a good LEO as he as the ability to play the run and rush the passer. Injury concerns is a big issue with him though

LOL... Yall pull so much shit out of yalls asses in order to make a point...

ONE play and Ford doesn't have discipline. How many other flags did he draw all season? Keep in mind that KC was the MOST penalized team in the league last year.

Consistency? When he has been on the field he is consistently one of the better pass rushers in the league...

Durability... this is thing in your post that is true... but KC signed Watkins last year, and Mathieu this year and they have the same issues, and play much less valuable positions.

That's why the highest paid players on defense all rush the passer...

I'm gonna add you to the list of posters who I just ignore...

Your long-term fandom of Ford is coloring the glasses you use to view him.

Yes, he has had two good pass rush seasons. Out of five in the NFL. Consistently elite as a pass rusher? One out of five seasons of elite pass rusher performance does not equal that.

Mathieu is coming off back-to-back full seasons. Watkins is definitely a consistent and ongoing injury concern, but he also amps up the Chiefs offense to a different level, which was the point in getting him.
