There are points that during high school….some positions are given because of how players are perceived as “smart”. I’m not getting into that shit though because this is about coaching.

My point still stands.

Everybody is racist is not true.
But that also means that nobody is racist is also not true.

Life is complicated. Sometimes there are no solutions to perceived problems. I think the Rooney Rule is a perfect example of that. You could argue that it’s only made things worse.

Because it is very hard to believe that out of the enormous, disproportionately black pool of athletes who have played the game, captained their team and had off the charts football IQ the pipeline shouldn’t be way deeper. Or that these guys are overwhelmingly under qualified to run locker rooms they grew up around. That is a qualification that is an enormous resume boost. It doesn’t add up that this wouldn’t translate well to coaching.

So yeah, when the numbers are disproportionately black you don’t expect for the coaching to be overwhelmingly not black.

And we agree there. But there are people here that can’t get off the whole “no racism exists” argument. It’s bullshit. It does exist but they want hard concrete evidence that it’s out there. That smoking gun isn’t coming out.

The league has no problem using black men as labor (players) but obviously have an issue with them becoming management, because it's happening at a ridiculously disproportionate scale.

I wouldn’t say nobody. Dude failed as a HC, cheated and backed out on the Colts. There are plenty of people wondering why he got a second chance. Technically a third chance if you’re the Colts.

If you didn’t think McDaniels would eventually get another shot, I don’t know what to tell you.

He’s been in NE rehabbing his image for almost a decade just for that.

And he had success with a rookie QB this year.

Should’ve been obvious that it was just a matter of time.
