My 2 and a Half cents.
Huge win-it has been years since we have won like this. I have to admit- I was getting that bad feeling when we keep choking away chances. But we grinded it out. Where were the holding calls on the Eagles?? Am I the only only that feels the refs screwed us the whole game? Hali had his pads hanging out from having Peters on his back all night. Poe had multiple guys on him like glue- and not one call. T jack was held nearly every play as well. Throw in a few other bogus calls and I just have to say F u refs-worst one sided job I have seen this year. Offensive line was horrid. The Fisher pick seemed the safe way to go- but now- not so much. He bites on the first move, gets bull rushed, missing blocks completely and is called for holding on big plays. I keep hoping for that pancake block or something to show he was worth it-but losing faith fast with this guy-(yes 3 games in for a rookie) But so far completely undependable. Albert-Get on the F N line!!! Once, okay, but cheating back twice because you have been smoked all night? The holding call hurt us as well. I love that BA has been a leader but he is looking to be replaced in the offseason. Fish and BA seemed to take turns on letting a guy in unblocked-sometime both at once. Very disapointing especially on Three straight 3rd and 1's and you get your ass pushed in. Weakest link on the whole team right now. The Tony G. curse? I think we might have the worst bunch of TE's in the NFL right now. They can't catch, can't hardly block and don't get open. Pretty much an F grade for 3 games so far. Time for some upgrades- clean the slate and start over. This is picky- but can we please stay in bounds when we are trying to run the clock down with a lead?? And why in the hell are we running the hurry up when we are trying to give the D a break? The whole game I was begging for a run play and not until the end did we see some power running. Sherman was destroying guys out there- he needs to be in every play-if only to just knock the shit out of someone. JC is the best rb in the nfl right now- hands down. Missed an easy catch but came right back and made up for it. Heart of a Lion! Bowe- great blocks all night. Nice job on the Gatorade shower too. Alex said he was double teamed most plays so maybe he was? Big drop that would have been a much needed first down. He set some big goals-no where close so far- time to step it up. Alex- this guys sucks- all he does is win-lol I counted 3 passes he over threw on the check down- he was getting hit on two of them. When the game has been on the line the last two weeks- he went in the huddle and put that sorry ass offense on his back. Hopefully at some point we will get to see what he can do with a running game and more than a half a second to pass. Maybe he can help the O line learn to pick up a blitz as well. It has to be frustrating when the Eagles are rushing 3- against five and 2 guys are dog piling you a few seconds later. In the after interviews- he took the credit for the failure when it was clearly not his fault. Class act! Andy- how can you not love this guy? He handled everything with humor and class. He had plenty of chances to take a hit at people that have wronged him (Sal) but he didn't. Best coach in the NFL right now-hands down. Hope Houston has room for another D. player of the week award- he has this weeks in the bag. Dominating! Great win, best record in the NFL-been awhile since we said that!! |

I totally admit it, we could really use Tayvon Austin right now. This team needs more explosive playmakers.

1. Run the ball consistently.....not just when you have the lead and you're trying to run the clock out. And no....that doesn't mean run the ball 20 times with Alex Smith. He's going to get killed one of these times. 2. Get McCluster out of the ****ing game. Hemmingway needs to be running in the slot. McCluster adds NOTHING to this offense. Avery and Charles are a million times better in open space than McCluster is. Hemmingway gives you the ability to make the tough catches over the middle and in the redzone. |

That is weird. Here in Springfield, the radio broadcast is about four or five seconds ahead of the TV. Great write up as always.

I was wondering what the deal was with Sal Palentonio after the game. Sal looked at Reid with this,"You Dick" look. Priceless!

And some fans aren't negative, but realistic. 3-0 is great, but this team has some issues. 3-0 isn't a reason to ignore them, but it is a reason to be happy. The issue that bothers me the most is offensive play calling. Our red-zone play calling in the first half last night is a cause for concern. Out of the first three red-zone possessions we threw 1 pass into the end-zone, and maybe 2 passes that didn't go to the sidelines, and one ridiculous pitch on an attempted sweep. |
