X and O Guys - How Did Denver Just Shut down the Chiefs Blitz?

All with football acumen please help me understand. Why didn't the Chiefs Defense touch 5 head, neck bone at least once or twice?

I just question whether they can win a road game against a playoff caliber team with this offense. Which is why I don't think they can afford to lose more than one more game the rest of the season. I think this team needs home field. Which is going to be a tall order with the offense performing as they have.

I think the 2nd game against Denver will tell us a lot about this team.

Although I'm still not sure how I feel about the Chargers game. This would be a perfect time for San Diego to be schizophrenic and steal one, as we both suffer a hangover from tonight's game and look forward to next week's rematch.

The only teams in the AFC that concern me on the road are Denver and New England. Clearly, the Chiefs have a lot of ground to make up in order to beat either.

Reid needs to do a lot of soul-searching, in terms of philosophy and play calling, if he wants to see an offensive improvement this season.

The pieces are there to be a good offense. Not great, but good.

I don't think I'd want to play the Bengals or the Colts on the road, either.

I still think that Indy game at Arrowhead is going to be interesting.

take for instance, Manning's 33 yard completion late, I think to Decker : Tamba Hali got clotheslined around his throat and then tackled - before tha ball was thrown.

Bowe was obviously held directly in front of a referee on a third down in the second qtr; Smith targeted Bowe, and Bowe was held so badly, the ball looked badly overthrown. I think the ref laughed at Reid...

On the flip side of this, while the Chiefs were catching flags ALL GAME LONG for defensive holding...Denver didn't start getting flagged until the game was pretty well in hand. Sure, the final line says calls went 'both ways'...but anyone who watched the game ****ing knows better.

Chiefs got jobbed. Donkey fans can jump up and down because they think they're great, but they needed the refs to win that game in Denver.

If that game has consistent officiating, KC wins.

The being said, offense sucks. Can't tell if it's the qb, the line, the WRs, the playcalling...but 17 points on the road won't win in this league anymore. It just won't.

They didn't even try until the 4th qtr and that was smart.

1.5 seconds getting the ball out...

... what a whinny little bitch. I suppose the first 9 games in which KC won however were perfectly officiated, no Chief got away with anything, the physical KC defense just happened to stop making contact up until 5 yards then played lock down defense without touching anyone. I supposed the Chiefs oline didn't have a single holding call that wasn't missed. Shut up dude, you are crying like a woman.

this, right here.

A lot of this offensive ineptitude is squarely on the coaching. TERRIBLE playcalling, horrid.

I was making a point.

And it's a valid one.

And unless you have a specific example of a play where a Chiefs O-lineman held a Bronco defender and wasn't flagged, then you're just worthless troll who is a waste of bit transfer when you bump your dirty peckerskinners across the keyboard.

Eat a bag of dicks after you do another dab, Donkeyfan.

We're gonna break 5head's neck in two weeks.

Let me see some friggin' receivers! Avery was a big part of this team early in the season. I know he dropped one but so did everyone else. He's faster than Dexter. Make him spread the field.

Hemmingway has shown he has good hands. Hell, let's get Kyle Williams out there.

Something other than Slow mo Bowe.

The refs didn't win the game for the Broncos. The Chiefs decided to make it a lot easier for them with piss-poor execution.

Bowe is a great possession receiver, but yes, we need more speed outside.

Hemingway is a decent special teams guy I guess, but he is not a threat. Kyle Williams is a dumpster fire. There isn't any help on this roster, I promise.

Bring in Maclin. A Maclin/Bowe combo could get some things done.

Someone like that - a legit burner who forces the defense to play honest. Teams have 8 and even 9 in the box on us ALL GAME LONG. They don't respect the long ball; no one can get downfield. We have no TE, and a plodding possession receiver masquerading as a #1 WR. No interior line whatsoever, and not only is Alex Smith not the long-term answer...but if he goes down, we're REALLY ****ed.
