Why do women do this??? - Page 5

I have 2 women friends who think they have to tell me they love me every single time I talk to them, I don't care if its 5 time a day, its I Love You, before we hang up.

I hate doing that but when they say it I say it back, I just hung up from one of them and she done the I LV U and when I hung up I thought why the hell do they do that every single time?

I am a woman and I don't get it, so you guys are probably blind for sure, does any of the women on here have to deal with this from any of your friends?

My in-laws do this

EVERY time they talk to my wife and or the grand kids and yes, it doesn't matter whether the conversation is 5 minutes an hour or if you won't see them for a month or they could be on their way over to visit!

Drives me nuts. I know it's family and all but good grief

My best girlfriend of 25 years and I say it all the time. Of course she lives in Mo and I in Tx and we only talk on the phone about once a week but we always say it. I do love her as a friend and you never know what will happen in life. Say I don't say it to her next time we talk, and the next call I get is from her parents telling me she's dead....it's just 3 little words..come on.....it's easy to say........

There could be all sorts of reasons they do that so I won’t offer opinions about why. Wouldn’t it be better speaking to your two friends about this? You can tell them exactly how much you dislike it when they tell you “I love you” and that you say it back to them only because you feel coerced to respond in kind. THAT would make you feel so much better and they’d probably stop annoying you with that silly, affectionate expression.

Or maybe you can just let it go and find something else, something vastly more important and life-altering to bitch about.

Naw, tell them stumppy wants pictures if they truly love her. That will either stop them cold or give stumppy a thrill or two.

There are at least two likely possibilities.

1. Either they really do love you.
2. It's a meaningless habit on their part.

Either way, why does it bother you?

Many times when women friends say "I love you" to me in parting, or ending a phone conversation, I respond "I can't say that I blame you".
