Jay Glazer of FOX reports that Chiefs running back Priest Holmes, thrust back into a starting job due to the foot injury suffered by Larry Johnson, reinjured his neck on Sunday against the Colts.

Holmes, per Glazer, has met with a series of specialists, and his career could be over.

Holmes initially suffered the neck injury in 2005, when he was hit by "before" Shawne "roidman" Merriman.

Holmes re-injured his neck on Sunday. The neck originally was injured in 2005, and he was out of football for all of the 2006 season.

The former holder of the single-season touchdown record is signed through 2009. The Chiefs presumably could attempt to recover some bonus money from Holmes, but to do so would be a bad P.R. move.

Unproven though it may be, it wouldnt surprise me one bit.

That tackle he took in the gif. looks just like the fall Michael Irvin took at Philly that ended his career. His head was at a downward angle & slammed into the hard fake turf. It looked very bad.

Anyone accusing Priest of faking something should pull their head outta their ass, it was an awkward & ugly fall directly onto an already fragile neck.

It probably scared the hell outta Priest & i wouldnt blame him at all for questioning his ability to continue.

This IS a game, not life & death.

The tackler was very agressive with Priest's helmet. Did you see the way Priest looked at him when he got up?

How about Casey Printers? Herm could solve all of the Chief's problems with him. No passing required, he could protect Brodie on the bench etc.

Yep, he basically put Priest in a headlock & made every effort to drive his head down.

I know Herm hates it & penalties hurt...but just ONCE i'd like to see us whip (i mean good) someones ass on the field for stuff like this (Trent etc.)
