It's still ridiculous that Tippet is in and DT is out.

They need to get someone else other than Gretz to make the pitch for DT.

Go line up John Elway, Steve Young, Warren Moon, and Troy Aikman, and ask THEM if they think DT is HoF worthy.

They've done that. They did a letter writing campaign that had all kinds of HOF'ers... Elway, Jim Kelly, etc... even Shanahan wrote a letter saying DT should be in. That was the first year he was eligible too, and it didn't work.

Interesting. I didn't realize that. His abscence from the hall makes even less sense to me now.

If Mecca is right about the reasons he listed, there shouldn't even be a HoF, imnsho. Derrick was a game changer, period. Yes, there were spots where he was invisible, but Jerry Rice dropped some sure TD catches, too.

I would love to see Gretz's presentation to the voters. I think it's been reported that he never changes it from year-to-year.

DT wasn't simply a game changer, he was a guy that changed the culture of this organization singlehandedly.

The NFL HOF has always rewarded good players on great teams more than great players on bad-good teams...

A good player from a 3 or 4 time superbowl winner will get in before a great player on a team that never won, look at Lynn Swann his numbers are pedestrian.
