Well... my best friend just died.
I'm still choked up about it, so I'm not going to write much.

He was killed in a hit and run on I-70 last night.

Prayers and thoughts for his family.. and myself, would be greatly appreciated.

Alright, time for an update.

I've spent most of the day today with his family, most of them are doing ok, but his mother is not. Her husband died three years ago and she doesn't have much left.

As far as the culprit is concerned, he got caught, but he wasn't inebriated so he gets off with a ticket. Personally, I harbor him no ill will; whats done is done, and it was an accident. However not everyone feels that way.

Sorry man. I recently lost one of my friends that in my teens i hung around with quite a bit. He was the first to go from my age bracket. Early 30's. It really bothered me for a few days. While he wasnt my best friend, he was still a good friend.

He has a sister and a brother, his sister is too young to really understand, but his brother is really not taking it well. He put his hand through the wall and broke it when he heard the news.

That's pretty rough. A girl I was in choir with at ESU was killed in a car accident my sophomore year. That was the first time I'd ever dealt with the death of someone my age. We were friends, though not exceptionally close. It was tough to deal with, but I got to know a lot of really great people shortly afterward as we helped each other through it all. I hope your experience is similar.
