Alva Deck, Independent Trucks with Kryptonic Wheels. I mowed so many lawns and washed so many cars that Summer to buy that board. It was so worth it, best skateboard I ever owned!

of course, I remember Alva, they had a tourquoise deck out w/ hot-pink Alva lettering, I bought it used, they definitely didn't cut corners on the tail.

Wow, this thread brings back some memories...

I was a huge Caballero fan, and skated mostly his decks. I had a few others sprinkled in, but always came back to Stevie...

I had a 4' half pipe in my backyard for a couple years. Eventually tore it down, and started building an 8' ramp. Was about ready to attach the actual skating surface, and the city showed up and shut me down. A neighbor complained, and I couldn't proceed without a building permit. An expensive lesson for a high schooler...

My deck was completely covered with deck grip. Alva was cut out and the lettering was a few colors. I thought that was the coolest damned thing I had ever seen.

I did a google search and found my exact 1979 Alva deck (re-issue of course). Very Cool, many good memories coming back.

Heh. Got on my board for the first time in 20 years today, due to this thread. "Hey kids! Do you think I can go uphill?"

"Daddy!? No, you can't"

"Watch, you punks!"

Tack. Tack. Tack.
