Why are Copper and Lawrence still on this team?

I had hoped that this new administration would be above the game of "keep the guy because he's MY GUY" bullshit. I guess they aren't because imo Lelie showed more in 2 weeks that both copper and lawrence showed all preseason combined.

Didn't lawrence have more drops then catches?

wtf?!?

Quote/bump because more than a few people don't understand this. KC will add 3-5 new faces in the next few days.

We won't keep 4 QBs. and we WILL bring in OL.

And if we don't sign Tyree I will shit multiple bricks.

Bowe-Jones-Tyree-Bradley would be 100000x better than what we have now.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe the ability to actually catch a pass?

I'm with Krab on this one. Lelie should have made this team. So what if he was running with the fourth teamers? He was the only guy coming down with the ball and the qbs were actively looking for him on nearly every play. Tell me what Copper brings to this team that Lelie doesn't? I mean, besides not being on the field with the offense.

Haley and Pioli were sitting in the big office this afternoon absolutely torn over what they would do. Haley liked Lelie, and all the upside this guy has...and especially loved that he could scream at a man named Ashley for 4 hours a day. Just when they were ready to drop the hammer on Copper or Lawrence, Pioli logged onto Chiefs Planet and saw how excited one Mr. Krab was about Lelie. Out of pure spite and a desire to ruin this franchise, he dialed Ray Farmer and had him deliver the bad news to Ashley. He gave him his Chiefs pin, which he put next to his Raiders, Broncos, Falcons, and 49'ers pins, and wished him luck on his journey to work for every team in the NFL.

I think its a foul if you use upside and Lelie in the same post.... regardless of how true it might be.

I'd be alright with Tyree. At least he could look some of these guys and say "I've caught more balls with my helmet than you've ever caught with your hands."

I am really thinking Matt Jones, now. I think he's ready to make the most of his second chance, and has first round talent. Besides, he'd probably be, talent-wise, our 2nd best QB on top of that.

So we got a 5th string WR in Lelie and a 5th string WR in Copper. Copper contributes on special teams. Lelie does not.

They're BOTH far enough down the depth chart that neither one makes a significant contribution to the offense. That means that amazing speed and QB-friendly targetness that Lelie supposedly possesses is now worthless to the team. That means he has NOTHING.

And don't bring up the "what if a WR gets injured' bullshit. We're talking week to week. Let's assume no WR injuries happen until week 6. Wouldn't it be great to have special teams help those 6 weeks instead of NOTHING?

You know what, **** it. People are right on this thread- this team is going to change so much before opening day it's not even funny. This is a pointless debate.

Debating the merits of keeping the likes of Lelie vs Cooper and Lawrence shows how utterly pathetic the Chiefs group of WRs is.
