McDaniels losing his locker room?

http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=88117

Quote:
All but buried amid the Brandon Marshall drama is Broncos coach Josh McDan- iels' benching of tight end Tony Scheffler for the game Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs for a non-injury-related reason.

"I'm a competitor and have worked extremely hard this offseason to be able to fight for a chance to make the playoffs," Scheffler said Friday. "Him taking that away doesn't sit very well with me or some of my teammates."
Scheffler has been frustrated by his reduced role this season — he has 31 catches for 416 yards in 15 games, after catching 40 passes for 645 yards in 13 games last year.

He apparently expressed his frustration to a few teammates after the Broncos' 30-27 loss last Sunday to Philadelphia, and Scheffler was informed Wednesday by an assistant coach that he would not be dressing for the game Sunday against the Chiefs and would spend the week of practice on the scout squad.

"To be honest, I haven't even heard from Josh," Scheffler said.

McDaniels is a QB guru in a QB driven league. The QB position under McDaniels is like Shanahan with RB's.

Please stop...

McD needs to fix the problem with the slow starts and if he's hell bent on NOT using guys like Hillis, Scheffler and Royal... figure something out. I think McD has good upside, but he's a guru of nothing so far as a HC.

The only consistent thing has been consistency and player issues.

Look at your boy Matt Cassel. McDaniels got him a $60,000,000 contract in one year.

And look what he has done with Kyle Orton...

Orton already has tied John Elway's franchise record for most games in a season with a QB Rating of 90 or higher, has career highs in yards, completion percentage, yards per attempt, touchdown passes, and a career low in INT's.

Denver will not have any problems at the QB position as long as McDaniels is around.

I remember how you guys used to blather about how Shanahan has coached up Jake Plummer and the Super Bowl was just around the corner.

Well the whole Matt Cassel experiment is a joke IMO,and yeah,Orton has had a good season so far.Your argument looses all weight when you factor in your teams late season choke fest, maybe McDipshit is a better OC/QB coach than a HC.

The last 9 games have been brutal... they bye week came a long and BAM, downward spiral.

Losses @ BAL / @ IND / @ PHI - Home losses to PIT and SD.

Those 5 losses aren't really that hard to justify. The Redskins and Raiders are bitter pills to swallow though. It really wouldn't be such doom and gloom had it not been for the stinkers @ WAS and vs OAK... those 2 games really put a damper on the ENTIRE season. The lone wins vs the Giants and at KC.

Kyle Orton wouldn't look half that good if his passing game wasn't centered on "I'm just going to throw this ball up at Brandon Marshall and see what happens" and that looks like it's not going to be an option much longer.

Say what you will, talent wins games. Running off the best players on the roster will only hurt the team.

Your spinning makes the former Iraqi Information Director dizzy.

That this kind of garbage is happening the week of this game where there are still playoff implications says everything you need to know about where the Broncos stand.

It doesn't mean they won't win nor does it mean they haven't exceeded my expectations. It DOES mean that there are serious issues in that locker room. Whether Scheffler was or wasn't a part of future plans has nothing to do with his healthy scratch tomorrow. Is there any question he's their best option at TE to compete, especially with the backup questionable?

Oh yeah, just wanted to add that it's times like this when I appreciate being less insanely tied to the wins and losses of my favorite NFL team.

Both of our teams hired New England guys...history says they we'll both epically fail because of it.

McDaniels looks more and more like Eric Mangini everyday, these guys think they are Belichick and come off like power crazed douches.

I don't think that matters. I believe the compensatory picks are based on how the free agent performs on his new team.

Yes, because Cutler is sure lighting it up. Tell us again what an idiot McDaniels was for trading the Broncos' pick and keeping Chicago's.

Yea and you'd rather have Orton than Cutler right?
