They just eclipsed $8 a pack out here in the great state of WA. Cartons are over $70 after tax. How much are they where you live?

3.99 a pack of Marlboro's here. A friend of mine who works for Phillip Morris would get like 4 cartons every 2 weeks with his paycheck. We'd go out to dinner with them and he'd give me 6-10 cartons. That was back in the day when I smoked. 3 years nicotine free now.....

it's an addiction, man. I'm glad I don't have it--I've lost several relatives to lung cancer. it's sad watching them struggle to breathe yet carring a cig in their hand that's already lit.

I know it is an addiction. I smoked for 10 years. Haven't had a cigarette in 4 years. I know how hard it is to quit and I know it is possible. Especially for a guy that can motivate himself to workout as hard as he has and lose as much weight as he has.

Well, for those of us who aren't ****ing cyborgs, it is difficult to quit smoking and lose weight at the same time. He shouldn't overdo it in the life-changing department.

watching my gramps die of lung cancer (not being able to breathe at all the last few weeks) had the same effect on me. doesn't hurt that it happened when I was fifteen and impressionable, though. he hadn't even smoked for the ten years before being diagnosed with cancer.

I don't understand how people get addicted to things that are not only detrimental to your health but expensive. I thought I was addicted to cigarettes in college because I used to just bum them from my friends at the bars and wherever I went. I went home for the summer, and I was driving somewhere and was like , damn. I really need a cigarette. HOLY SHIT I AM ADDICTED TO CIGS!!! OH NOES!!....So I go to the closest gas station, ask for a pack and they go, that'll be six bucks. WTF? I quit right away.

When, why, and how long....

The cool kids would sneak off campus and go to the little convenience store on the corner. They would get all their sodas and snack stuff and hit the woods to smoke.
The guy I was crushin on was one of those kids, so I followed suit. (smoked in the woods before school) he started fooling around with Amanda the slut so I broke up with him and ****ed his brother. Didn’t pick up another cigarette till…
Fast forward to High School new boy walked into Physical Science. I did a double take, nice ass. Ended up getting married and life turned to suckage. He smoked so, why not.
Fast forward a few years later got rid of him, cigarettes and butter.
Fast forward a few years later still..
I started waitressing.
I know it’s crappy for the non-smokers cause if you smoke you can “take 5 for a smoke” and others would watch your tables for ya.
Non-smokers can’t “take 5 for the hell of it”
I quit the restaurant and bar scene 8 years ago so now..
I now only smoke when I drink. No smoking in the house or in the car. I don’t smoke after I have supper. I don’t smoke after sex. But you can bet your grannies panties if I walk into a bar I’m gonna order a beer, take a swig and then fire up a cigarette.
So I guess what it boils down to is “boys made me do it first, then I did it for myself”
And with that, I’m back to my corner.
