We tried to figure out earlier this week exactly what was going on with unsigned Chiefs restricted free agent safety Jarrad Page.

Now we have a better idea.

In a press release sent to PFT Friday night, Page's representation said they submitted a "formal trade request" to the Chiefs on Thursday. The release notes that "Entering the 2009 season, Jarrad Page had more interceptions than any other safety selected in the 2006 draft class. Page is entering his fifth NFL season."

Page has started 39 games in four seasons and produced plenty, but it's hard to believe he would inspire much of a trade market, if any, coming off a disappointing year.

You know, it's kind of interesting which players are having the greatest difficulty making the transition from Herm to Haley. I wonder if Herm coddled his DBs a little too much. I've hear he's a first-rate coddler.

I'm not mad that Page is seeking a trade.
He doesn't owe this team anything. They can cut him at anytime.
He's not obligated to fulfill his contractual obligations when they can rid themselves of theirs. It's part of the business.

He won't fetch much in a trade though.
If he can get traded...trade him. Doesn't bother me at all.
Take a 5, 6 or 7 for him.
