Battle for the top two AFC seeds

The current standings:

1. 10-2 New England
2. 9-3 Pittsburgh
3. 8-4 Kansas City
4. 7-5 Jacksonville
5. 9-3 New York
6. 8-4 Baltimore.

Remaining tough games for New England:

Chicago, Green Bay, Miami

Remaining tough games for Baltimore:

Houston, New Orleans

Remaining tough games for New York:

Miami, Pitt, Chicago

Remaining tough games for Pitt:

New England, Baltimore, New York

Remaining tough games for KC:

San Diego, Tennessee

Notice that the other contenders on this list are going to play each other. A lot. It's entirely possible these teams could cannibalize each other while we sit back and laugh and reap the reward.

If the Chiefs take care of business and beat the losers on their schedule we could very well claim a first-round bye.

In the end, it doesn't matter how you earn the bye.
Last time I checked, Matt Cassel isn't Kurt Warner.

You still have to play the games, 1 game at a time, we were suppose to beat Buffalo easily. Buffalo was a better team than their record, I knew we would have trouble with them because we have not found that killer instinct yet to put teams down and out.... ref: Houston & now Buffalo.

I do see us at 10-6, maybe 11 - 5.
Only homers thought the Bills were a pushover.

I continuously pointed out that the game against the Bills was no gimme all last week.

Good thing we only have to worry about Oakland.
The Jets always have a swoon. whether its in the middle of the season (like last year) or at the end of the season (in 2008) I am a pessimist. been through this shit way too many times. I'll believe it when I see it.

But they looked awful sunday. The Broncos confused the hell outta Sanchez with different zone packages. the Packers did the same shit, and the ****ing Jets had 2 ****ing weeks to prepare and fix the problems and just took a vacation!

Sanchez's completion percentage is well below Cassel's. I'd be worried.

I'm not gonna dog on Sanchez. Eli stunk in the beginning of 2007 and won the super bowl that year. I'm ragging on lard ass not doing anything about the incompetent offensive coaches. it's the NFL..LOL! The Packers d isnt that good.

Oh yeah, I forgot...don't you have Schottenheimer coordinating your offense? That's always fun.

I'm only pointing out that a soft schedule played a part in the Rams earning a first round bye and homefield advantage.

I have no illusions about advancing, nor even actually winning enough games with Cassel to actually earn those benefits.

How EPIC would this place be for the week before and after if this happens...........

Sanchez has played far better through much of this season that I expected.

I was saying before the start of the season that anyone expecting Sanchez to show any real improvement this year were expecting too much.

He has one season as a starter in college, and one in the NFL.

He still has a lot to learn, and that game against the Pack, and the earlier game against the Donkey illustrates just how much he still has to learn.

He should, if he is the QB that I think he can be, hit his stride sometime next season.

He was awful sunday. he missed Braylon Edwards (wide open) for a mail in 90 yd td catch. just didnt see him. and Santonio Holmes on another that was an awful pass. it was windy on sunday and I think that spooked him. but hes only in his 2nd year, so I agree with you.

But the entire offense sucked. Rex said they were a ground and pound team..lol..they threw 38 times and ran 21 times in a close game.
