I'm as upset right now as I have EVER been

I need to find somebody to yell at. Someone responsible... I'm never this way.

I just spent an hour... an HOUR, parked on side roads trying to get into the stadium. Every gate had a line of cars extending MILES back. Tried a few access roads... Still nothing. Eventually made my way around the south side of the stadium and tried heading up blue ridge cut off. By this time, it was WELL into the 1st quarter. While we were parked, northbound, I rolled down my window and yelled to the southbound traffic "hey, are you guys trying to get into the stadium?" They replied they were. "Are they not letting people into the these gates up here?!" ---Nope.

WHAT THE ****!????? There are thousands... Tens of thousands of people trying to get into the stadium right now. And they can't even get to the damn LOT! This is insane. My girlfriend and I decided to go home and watch the game on my DVR and spend the $28 (whatever it is now for parking) on some McD's. But I'm beside myself. As inconsolable as I get. This is like taking Christmas away from a 10 year old to me. I LOVE Chiefs football. Arrowhead is close as it gets to church for me.

I'm so pissed off right now. I want to know who is responsible for gates being shut down. I want to find somebody to tear a new asshole. But first, I'm watching the Royals finish off Detroit. Then I'll start the game from the top and stuff my face and try to feel better.

Rant over. Thanks Planet...

This is what happened. I came in on i-70, and was at a dead stop for about 15 minutes right at the manchester exit. Normally I'd take manchester and come in the back way, but I could look to my right and see that manchester wasn't moving either. There was a little red car that I used as a marker while I was stopped on the highway, and he was at the top of the hill (exit ramp) trying to turn left onto a completely jammed Manchester. He moved less than I did. So I decided to take 435 South which was wide open, find a place to turn around and come back up the far less known about Eastern Road (little access road). Went up Eastern for a few blocks (up from Sni Bar), and found a line of cars that extended for miles. I waited for a few minutes to see if anything was moving, and while I waited, I watched as car after car turned around in line and headed back south for another way. I decided to follow. Next I tried Ozark Road up to Raytown, thinking maybe Sportsman drive would be easier. Nope. The line for Sportsman drive extended all the way down Sportsman, spilled back onto Raytown road, and then went back a few blocks onto Ozark. Nobody was moving at all for about 10 min, so I drove up the left lane and took and left on Raytown, hoping I could get a shorter access back to the first plan (Lancer). Nope. Again, the line wasn't even moving and never even got close enough to Lancer to SEE the damn road. Most people were standing outside of their cars and tailgating on the street at that point (the game was about 20 min till kickoff by this point). So, I pulled a U-turn, and thought blueridge cutoff traffic would at least be moving, and I'd rather wait in a long line and be moving... I was so mega pissed at that point, I may not have been thinking straight. Took Ozark road south to 47th, until I made my way back to Raytown (on the other side of the big line) and took a left to go North on Blue Ridge cutoff. The right lane was moving a smidge, but I didn't want to be a cutter. I waited in the left lane for about 15 or 20 minutes and moved maybe a 20 yards (never even got close to passing underneath that walkway/bridge/ugly whatever the hell that is and thought... Wait, why are all these people lined up on blue ridge SOUTH??? Why didn't they just go in the gates right behind them? I feared the worst, and that's when I yelled over to the people who couldn't even have known how bad Raytown was about to be for them, and they told me that the gates on blue ridge were closed. I was mega pissed. Here I was waiting in ANOTHER line (where I couldn't even see my destination) and being told that if even got there it wouldn't matter. We decided to pack it in and head home at that point.

The irony here is that the last "traffic update" on 101 said nothing about any of this. While I was staring at thousands of cars jammed and not moving at all, the helicopter guy said something like, "Well, there's a stalled car on 435 slowing things down a bit, but it's clear sailing into the stadium from everywhere else."

Im still waiting on some sort of explanation from the Chiefs as to why this happened. The stadium was literally empty at kickoff and you could see thousands of cars trying to get into all gates. Obviously they need to get their shit together somehow.
