Sac's Easy 4 Step Process for the Chiefs

1. Bob Sutton has to go.

- The defense, despite having a shit ton of talent, has folded in the second half of far too many games. The Colts playoff game was not an outlier. His scheme sucks. Guy calls two brilliant blitzes a game, but otherwise his defense has repeatedly failed at the most critical times.

I'd fire Sutton now, elevate Tommy Brasher to Interm Defensive Coordinator right now, and then hire Gus Bradley (if he gets fired from Jacksonville) or Utah's Kyle Whittingham at the end of the season for the position. You'll pay a lot for either, but they are the best at either level (pros/college) in setting up a defense.

2. Alex Smith needs to be benched right now.

- His confidence is shot and he's making poor throws and decisions with the ball. Daniel needs to start this weekend to give this team a shot in the arm. After that, if Smith gets his head back in the game, they can put him back in or, preferably, start Murray. He's been in the system for two years now and it's time to see if he can play in this league. The rest of the season should be about finding out if any of these three guys should be on the roster in 2016.

3. Reid needs to give up play calling duties.

- This can happen at the end of this season. Hire a new offensive coordinator who is capable of moving the offense forward, a la Mike McCarthy in Green Bay. Players like Reid - a lot. He motivates them and gets them to buy into the concept. But he makes bad game time calls that have cost this team. He needs to be a head coach versus a coordinator and head coach.

If Steve Sarkisian is dried out by the end of the season, he'd be my guy. He's very creative offensively and has been very successful in building high level working offenses quickly. He'll be under a smaller microscope in Kansas City but he'll be fresh off the humiliation of his current situation and trying to redeem himself in the eyes of the sport. Good possible canidate for future head coach.

4. A new QB in the 2016 Draft

- Dorsey uses a veritable army of scouts, the latest analysis technology, etc. He needs to put all of those resources to work starting yesterday to make sure that they pick the best QB for the team in the 2016 draft. Fine tooth comb the position and spend that first round pick on getting the guy that they target. No more pussyfooting around with the position. Just do it. And if that guy ends up sucking, do it again in 2017. They can also spend a third/fourth rounder on another QB in 2016 just to make sure. But they have to do this right now. For the team, for the fans.

Bray and Murray and a draft pick.
Bray can't beat out Murray or Daniel, who, in turn, can't beat out Smith.

You know what that says about your QB corps?

If, and I do mean IF we see any tangible change either with the roster or the coaches, we won't see it until after the bye week.

That this franchise still doesn't have anyone who can evaluate QB talent...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yes....because I'm sure Murray and Daniel have a legitimate shot to beat out a QB making $17 million.

Again, if those three are your QB's you aren't very good at evaluating QB talent...

Beat out????!!!??? Beat out????

Jesus dude, wtf.

Reid spent millions and 2 draft picks to bring his hand picked golden boy QB to KC. Do you really think he has the balls to bench him and go with a backup QB based on "beating him out" on the practice field?

This the moment Reid puts alex on the bench he is pretty much telling Clark I should be fired I have no idea what I'm doing and the game passed me by long ago.

That is not necessarily true.
Smith has tools to work with, and he has shown flashes of greatness.

What he appears to lack is the mental tools, but even the best evaluators can't know that until they work with them on.

I wonder if that spleen injury has just completely ****ed his confidence up. He looks so incredibly jittery this year, for worse than 2013 or 2014.

He does seem to be more timid now.

I am not in agreement.

In any event, Reid will stubbornly play his boo, and I pray to God he does.

What Sacc is trying to do here is to salvage that which should not be salvaged. Band aids for bullet wounds, and I'm not having it.

Salvage operations get you Romeo Crennel's and more useless, unwanted time for Reid.

Listen up fat boy; you just keep doing your stubborn, predictable thing, and Sweet's will be right here watching you burn.

With glee.

For what it's worth, Dorsey was Green Bay's Director of College Scouting when they drafted Aaron Rodgers.
