LDT worse than we thought

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif - G - Chiefs

Chiefs RG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (fibula, I.R.) also suffered a Maisonneuve fracture in his leg Week 5 and is now in doubt to return in 2018.
Coach Andy Reid admitted the injury is worse than the team initially thought; LDT was expected to be a return candidate in a minimum of eight weeks. His season is now in jeopardy. A Maisonneuve fracture is a spiral fracture in the fibula associated with a tear of the interosseous membrane.

I would rather jam a steel rod into LDT's fibula and brace that shit up. Ereck flowers is straight butthole.

Having to start Devey against the defense with the 2nd highest pressure rate this season doesn't bode well for KC.

VARSITY
I know the guy was in great shape and the NFL is great at getting players back on the field from injuries but the dude had a complete break of a leg bone. That’s not a 6 week recovery time.

Fortunately, Mahomes has been excellent under pressure so far. Thanks!

Can't hurt. I'd point out that supports the argument that Cam Erving was terrible, and KC brought him in, and he's now "passable". So it can't hurt to bring him in as a vet min, and see what he got as a guard.

If he's damaged goods, then cut him.

Geoff Schwartz said on Twitter that he can’t.

Quote:
NO! Flowers can’t play guard. His hands are way too bad to play inside.

Look, I don’t know what the Chiefs are going to do…However, they shouldn’t even consider bringing in Flowers. He doesn’t fit anything they ask their lineman to do. You have to be skilled to play in that system.

I don't know about dynamite but I agree that they have played much better than I expected. I would hope the "next man up" would be extremely fired up and motivated to create holes and protect our future HOFer QB that will eventually hold the majority of NFL QB records in due time assuming he stays upright for the majority of his career.

I watched some of the snaps from last years Mahomes Denver game (Devey started at center), and it wasn’t too bad. Pretty good actually. He showed a little nastiness to his game too at times, and did similar things when he came into the game last Sunday.

Obvious downgrade from LDT but we should be able to get by just fine. It’s if other OL injuries occur, if they start to pile up, that we should worry.

Beyond that, watching those snaps was just another reminder that our QB now does a pretty darn good job even when playing with a bunch of backups. So yeah, wbf IMO.

I don’t know about Flowers. I have a buddy who is a Giants fan and he was absolutely giddy that they got rid of him. But, it worked with Cam Erving... so who knows?
