Al Harris & Mike Smith given a bigger role in defensive game planning?

Not a rock solid source by any means but not exactly something that I would expect a guy to make up.

It showed with the aggressive play calling and energy on the field.

I think Andy knows this opportunity is golden, HFA, elite offense. They’re trying new stuff out and here’s to hoping it just might work...

I am sorry but this is stupid. Bringing an outside coach in has nothing to do with Britt keeping his job. Andy is the head coach.

Because the best thing to do in a new organization is to fire your boss' kid.

You think a new Defensive Coordinator is going to be ok with keeping Britt Reid as Defensive Line Coach instead of his own guy?

Has the d-line been an issue? Is the DC the person who runs the team?

Of course a new DC is going to be willing to keep Britt on if Andy makes the request.

While we're in the process of throwing shit at the wall and also discussing Britt Reid, here's some more poo I'm about to fling!

Andy's obviously trying to help his kid become the best coach he can be, right? He's passing along all of his teaching tricks, and he's been able to get him his first NFL gigs, working up from quality control to a positional coach. There's probably a "next step" that Britt has to take if he wants to get a sweet head coach gig of his own, right?

Granted, I know nothing about coaching, but to me, if I were Andy Reid, I'd probably tell my kid to seek out a sweet DC gig in college. It might be I-AA, but if he had success, there's no reason why he couldn't go back to the NFL and coach DL again. But what that shows for his future to new teams is that Britt isn't just tied to daddy, and has actually made a name for himself in coaching that he carved out. To me, that would be kind of important to see before I thought about putting him in charge of anything that requires significant leadership at the pro level.

Plus, it's college. Andy Reid's strength as a coach is that of teacher. Britt has learned from him all of his life, and now has done so for 6 years in the NFL. Britt is probably good at teaching now as well. That's what college is all about.

Seems like a match made in heaven to me. But then again, that's also just me throwing shit at the wall and thinking out loud.

He just destroyed that back, lol.

And Jacobs is right...that's the kind of plays Hitchens made in Dallas that got him paid here.

I'm willing to give Hitchens a chance. I mean he's a Hawkeye right? LOL

Still, I think he will come around, and if he does that in the playoffs, all the better!

Pretty sure a DC won't care. Especially since good chance Reid plucks from his own tree.

Did you guys watch the Andy Reid presser with the black KC shirt on?

I’m almost positive that the Marty leak was substantiated even though Andy didn’t outright say it. He very carefully chose his words about 10 minutes in when asked if there were any major changes before the Raider game. Especially if you read his body language and read him.
