CB's are Fuller, Breeland, Ward, Clairborne, & Fenton: must be a trade coming, right?

After the events of today, our CB group is: Kendall Fuller, Bashaud Breeland, Charvarius Ward, Mo Claiborne, & Rashad Fenton. Something BIG has to be brewing. No way we roll into THIS season with this crew. Fingers crossed for some excitement in the next day or so.

i just said that and answer it.

We had 21 million available before signing McCoy. We should have spend that on a cornerback.

They decide that cornerbacks are not worth that in today's NFL.

My answer; If they really were determined to improve the CB position, to value the CB position then they would have done more at CB during free agency.

I think they have decided that no CB can cover for very long in the current NFL so they are just concentrating on the team elsewhere. On offense, on the pass rush etc.
Who the **** should they have signed???

Breeland and Claiborne are good players

You can roll over cap space. Every penny you spend on a CB right now takes away from money you can give to Hill, Jones, and Mahomes.

So take your pick: Hill, Jones, and a mid-tier CB. You can only have two of the three.

No, you said they “spent that money on McCoy instead of a cornerback “. I am pointing out that they only spent 3 million on McCoy. It was not an either/ or situation. It wasn’t McCoy instead of. It was McCoy and maybe still aquire a cb, maybe not if no one is available in their budget.

I think Claiborne will end up being our best cornerback.

Breeland is going to a problem all year. He'll be this year's Steven Nelson.

They keep hoping the young guys will work out and keep failing. Either Veach can't identify CB talent or our coaches can't develop them.

Other teams seem to always find a way to be tough at corner. We are not one of those. Last year we were one of the best pass rushing defense but our shitty corners still couldn't handle it.

If we don't make the super bowl this year it will be because of injuries, our cornerbacks or Andy Reid imo.

The Chiefs have decided that CBs are not worth it. That was sort of the point of the discussion.

Btw they could sign them all if they wanted to

So, if the Chiefs don't make the SB then it's either injuries, the players or the coach. That's some SERIOUS "going out on a limb" talk right there now! I'm glad you cleared that up for me. I'll sleep better at night with those revelations.

Breeland has been pretty solid everywhere he's played. Ward is the one I'm worried about; he doesn't have much experience.

Way to try to spin it so you can be a dick.

Not what i said or meant

Injuries, especially on the offensive line
Cornerbacks, not all players
Andy Reid, not all coaches. (i still don't trust him)

I agree. I just figured that Ward won't play much once Claiborne comes back. I bet Claiborne is our #1 corner. I just wish we would have signed someone that would push Breeland down the depth chart.

Claiborne

Fuller in the slot

Veach said in his interview a day or so ago that he’s been trying to trade for a corner but that the deal has to make sense.

Supply and demand is pushing the value of corners way up in today’s passing league.
