No, I haven't. It's a terrific movie that doesn't need a remake.

That's hilarious, and stupid. You complained about Verhoeven remakes because they weren't loyal to the source material. Starship Troopers is a movie that Verhoeven made, ignorantly, that isn't loyal to the source material. Verhoeven just masturbated all over a reel of celluloid while living out his Nazi paranoia fetish. You do have one thing correct. The movie doesn't need a remake because it was never made in the first place. What we need is an actual movie adaption of Starship Troopers done by someone who could at least be bothered to read the book. You should read the book, too. It's a classic. Much better story than Verhoeven's impotent ejaculate.

I had some hope for that remake initially. Mamoa seems like a natural as Conan. But of course it was pure shit.

I really wouldn't trust anybody to remake the '82 original correctly. Besides, outside of the cartoon demon scene, it still holds up pretty well. Yeah, the lead actors were barely actors, but this isn't Shakespeare. It's extremely well made and beautifully shot. And the score by Basil Poledouris can never topped.

Completely agree. I actually have the soundtrack on a record, which ironically I am listening to at the moment. The soundtrack is horrifically underrated. You really don't hear many people talk about it in the sense of a top notch score. In regards to the movie, sadly I couldn't make it more than 30 minutes with the Jason Momoa one. It was just so awful.

That's my personal favorite. Not that I don't like other stuff (by John Williams and James Horner specifically) but nothing either of them ever did can top Conan.

I know it's a cult classic but sign me up for a Last Starfighter remake.

For me, Last Starfighter falls into the same category as Tora Tora Tora. Shouldn't be completely remade, but the special effects should be redone (much like what they did to the old Star Trek episodes).

David Fincher had been trying to remake 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for quite some time now but Disney owns the rights to it and turned his pitch down because they are pussies that are totally invested in only the MCU/Star Wars/Pixar. (and they don't want to take too many risks since John Carter and Tomorrowland bombed )

Oh what could have been. The original is one of my childhood favorite films but could you imagine what David Fincher could do with today's cutting edge cgi?? Fincher has been quoted in the past that it would have been "his Star Wars"

oh well
