He is playing as you'd expect from a 34 year old who is getting triple covered, playing through injury after injury, feeling the 600 lb weight of carrying 3 WRs on the back. The better question is why we walked into the season thinking he could play that kind of role for until he’s 50.

We need to stop making excuses for players because we like them, he had as much to do with the loss last night as MVS and his season has been up and down and completely inconsistent. That fumble killed our momentum and took 7 off the board the way we were running it down their throats. I'm not giving him passes; don't give a shit about your relationship with Taylor, don't give a shit about your commercials, come to work and play good ball. For this season, he's Rick Vaughn, he better figure out how to be Ricky real quick.

I look at the cap figure MVS is taking and facepalm so hard my face almost implodes.

I guess you can say he earned it in the AFC title game last year, but damn it's ugly now.

Kelce has always made those kinds of mistakes. There is nobody that tries harder than him and his issues are from caring too damn much. Those aren't the issues I worry about. The problem is that he can't eat targets the way he used to, and that's been sorely missing. When he gets frustrated he's even more likely to overtry like he did last night.

And so much of that is different if you can find a SINGLE WR good enough to pull just a little attention off of him.

So yeah I'm very reluctant to blame mahomes and Reid and Kelce and nagy when it's abundantly clear they're doing extra to compensate for WRs who haven't been good. I'm way more concerned about the WR who can't exploit an entire defense swarming one dude than a 34 year old who can't handle double and triple coverage

It's the 3rd worst second half scoring offense in the last decade.

Mind blowingly bad.

What causes that? Is it coaching or coordinating the offense? The players don’t change at half - in fact you’d think they’d improve after a break.

What more does he have to prove? At some point, players see the light at the end of the tunnel and hope it's not a train. Kelce is looking pretty banged up and teams just continue to pound on him.
