Off-season WR possibilities

Seeing a lot of teams with sub .500 records with WRs that need to get with Mahomes.

Who is available and who would you like to see us pursue to go with Rice and Watson.

Trade for Brandon Aiyuk and draft Adonai Mitchell at the bottom of the first. Aiyuk is only 25 and would immediately be a WR1 that can stretch the field that we’ve been desperately lacking thus season.

Mitchell would provide depth on the outside, and both would allow us to move Rice to the slot where he can catch and run and do what he does best.

Add another mid-round pick and likely a cheap vet and this offense will do a 180.

Personally disappointed that Hardman got almost zero deep run. Our deep threats are hot garbage. If nothing else Hardmans at lease faster than anyone he’s lined up against. MVS doesn’t really seem to pull away. And if he does he runs straight to the next guy.

Stop wanting slot/possession type receivers. This current iteration of offense reminds me of the old dink and dunk days of Alex Smith. We need field stretchers, YAC guys, burners who can maximize Mahomes’ capabilities. I’m not seeing any potential free agents who fit this mold however and we’ll end up crossing our fingers of getting lucky in the draft once again. Why Veach didn’t want to pay Tyreek so Mahomes would have him while both in their prime years is beyond me.

Would love to have him on the cheap. Lockett as the vet, with Aiyuk, Adonai Mitchell, and another stud mid-rounder would be an overhaul of this WR corp the likes of our 2021 o-line overhaul.

The only answer is tee Higgins. Veach will figure it out with the money. He’s the guy the chiefs need.

They aren't going to spend that much $$$.

We have had the cheapest WR room in the NFL this year.

I get what you’re saying but I don’t know mahomes is that kind of guy anymore. I want a target monster on the outside. Agree we don’t need slow possession guys which is why we got rid of juju. But man I just want a guy who is athletic and quick enough, but just knows how to run routes and use his body on the outside. Pittman and Ridley aren’t world beaters, but they are these kind of guys without being slow.

I don’t think flour issue has been slow plodders. Our biggest issue is we have so many guys who break loose for a few big plays but are otherwise invisible for much of the game. We have too many of these guys

And that has to change and everyone knows it. If Lockett is cheap, you can afford him and Aiyuk if Jones is gone.
