You can get a 3rd round pick for sure. A 2nd likely but not sure. A 1st I'd be shocked but not impossible. Smith despite the regular season stellar stats has just not been convincing enough in the playoffs and in crunch time.

They will probably get a 2nd and an extra choice out of him in the end. |

Yeah..that's not going to happen. 4th rounder for a starting QB that just led the NFL in QBR..and had two 1000 receivers? Had five straight winning seasons in KC and taken them to the playoffs 4 times?

Just because they lost the Titans game the way they lost their other playoff games doesn't mean we should assume they're going to make a monumentally bone-headed decision, particularly since Veach really needs to take the mistakes Dorsey made and show that he's going to be a different GM by succeeding in those areas. Cap management is the single biggest area for improvement, and Veach REALLY loves Mahomes, perhaps even more than Dorsey did. We gotta support the team through the Mahomes process as long as the team sees it through. Bringing back Alex to start another season will destroy that confidence I have in them, but for now, I think it's safe to say they'll get a deal done one way or another. |

Do you repeat other's cliches in an attempt to portray digital pridefulness...or is it out of lack of original thought?
I didn't make you post "take a 4th for Smith"...you did. Own your terrible observation.... |

I've gone on record many times saying they will at least get total comp equaling to a 2nd rounder. Tell us more about your cool conspiracies though because woah man a Blake Bortles / Nick Foles SB is totes what the zionist man wants. |

They're going to have to make some moves to get into a better cap situation BEFORE trying to trade Alex. At least that way they're working from a position of power and not need.

I haven't read through many of the last comments... so, apologies if it's a repeat. Maybe the thought is keeping Alex and making a bet that they receive more via trade after the draft when a team in contention loses a QB in training camp or preseason?
Let there be a true competition for the starting job, not an annointment to the job and then if there's a big trade option due to another team losing a starter - bingo.

This fan base would line up, ass cheeks spread wide for another season of pathetic ramrodding from the Alexian micropeen, and gladly pay extra for parking to do it. "we're close, all we need to do is fix the defense! with a top 10 D Alex won't even need to be clutch because every game will be won by the 4th quarter!" RunKC and slugsnothugs would be trumpeting this far and wide by August with the right free agent additions and camp reports of "Alex is STILL going deep omg." Thankfully Reid and Veach have a hell of a lot more foresight.
