Superman just sucks as a character. He's tragically overpowered to the point of boredom.

Love the trailer for the live action LEGO Batman movie.
It looks better than MoS, but we'll see. MoS looked great in the trailer and was a dumpster fire, so... |

This is why, when DC tried to hire Marvel to write their titles in the 80s, Marvel refused on the grounds that the characters are crap. |

Marvel has done a good job of balancing powers and weaknesses. The 90's were pretty poor overall for the introduction of characters but Marvel has been good about slowly explaining origins and back stories. Wolverine, Cable, and Deadpool were characters that were introduced later and had histories that played out over years or decades. And really for a long time Marvel just had better writers...

Uh... When I was a kid, I loved "Superman" and "Superman II". But have you watched them lately? Through the prism of NOT being a kid any more, and it being 2015? Those movies SUCK. Horrible dialogue, horrible acting, just... awful all around. If they released "Superman" today, it would be laughed at and flop horribly.

You're pointing to how movies hold up. That's a separate issue. |
