We may never know what happened. It could have been an accident, assault, neglect, or a combination of those things. It's possible Hill's a piece of shit and did it and it's possible Hill and/or his gf did not cause this and the prosecutor doesn't believe them.

Nothing to do but see how it plays out.

When I was just a little dude (about 3 years old or so), my father lifted me by the arm and dislocated my little, tiny shoulder joint. One of those "shit happens" events we hear so much about.

Of course, it was an accident. No one ever even imagined my father doing anything abusive in his entire life. As for myself, I harbor no ill will toward my father and my shoulder works pretty well most of the time.

However, if that were to happen today (exactly as it occurred) and my grandmother decided to "get" my dad for some reason or another ... I am convinced that my dad would be charged with abuse. Would I have testified against my dad? No. Would my mom? Absolutely not. How about the neighbors? Never. But would that change the facts? Nope. And the popo and CPS would still be just as interested and the process would continue to unfold.

Granny would have ignited the fuse and my dad would have to hold the bomb.

That troubles me. And I can honestly say that I'm surprised that it doesn't trouble more people.
