It's kind of amazing how much of a difference it makes for Cole to say "I for one am looking forward to this matchup [between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan]" in awed-announcer voice instead of shitting on them constantly and calling them nerds. Is Vince dead?
also the late spring of punk an' bryan is gonna own so many bowenes

According to meltzer on his radio show from last night, the mentality regarding lesnar is "we're playing a ton of money to this guy who's not a WWE guy so we've got to make sure that he puts over WWE guys because we don't know how long he's going to be here." They told lesnar weeks ago that Cena was going over, but Lesnar's camp thought it was probably just testing him to see how he'd react. Cena was supposed to go out on a stretcher so that Lesnar would look like the winner in the end, which obviously didn't happen. Apparently it's hard to tell what exactly is going on behind the scenes because there's a lot of "weird working" going on. It's a "bizarre situation". In any case, apparently he's just there to put Cena over, and they wanted it to happen right away so everybody would forget about Cena losing to The Rock at mania. No real long term thought process, it's not building toward wrestlemania next year, it's all about getting WWE people over, starting with Cena.
They blow the punk build last summer, they blow the rock build for mania, now they blow this this spring. They keep getting setup after setup for things that could really change the product and keep people interested and ultimately make themselves tons and tons of money, and they just keep screwing up over and over. Back to midgets and fat dancing guys and guys with invisible friends and john cena getting his ass kicked one night and coming out to give a heroic speech about 'leaving for a while" instead of getting stretchered out and then coming out joking the next night like nothing ever happened to lead to a match that literally nobody wants to see with Johnny Ace. If they didn't have Punk and Danielson on the next PPV, this week would have been it for me. |

So I guess Vince isn't dead, then.

Holding out hope that they'll at least do Punk-DB the right way, but considering that they ended Raw with Big Johnny & Cena, I'm not holding out too much. |

Everyone needs to purchase Over the Limit. Because if it underperforms then WWE brass will blame Punk and Bryan.

I would not expect a whole lot out of Danielson and Punk based on Smackdown:

I love Punk to death, but they need to get him & Bryan together on the mic. Either that, or just let him loose on Laurinitis. Or turn him heel.... The face promos & putdowns are so much more watered down than when he was a heel/tweener. Face Punk is still more bearable than most of the roster (IMO), but heel/tweener Punk is epic.
And **** Cena. What should be the best pure wrestling match of the year is going to take second billing to Cena vs. Johnny ****ing Ace.... |

The King Hippo reference from the Miz is probably the best part of this show so far.

So, Cena's apparently filed for divorce, and there's potential that it could get really ugly. It's been rumored for years that he'll sleep with anything that walks (yes, kids, this is your PG-era WWE children's hero...), so it's not exactly a big surprise.
I wish I was naive enough to think this could have any kind of positive impact on the product. |

Don't have a link, but I just read something where an "insider" was quoted as saying that this would dwarf the Hogan divorce in terms of ugliness.
Gotta be tough to be a married pro wrestler. Or married to a pro wrestler, for that matter. Oh, and I hope this means he gets fired. Or something. But he won't. |
