But Cueto "redeemed" himself already in Game 5 vs Houston right? That means his loss to Toronto the other day didn't matter, he'd already been redeemed. I mean if Price can wipe away an 0-7 record with 1 good start then Cueto's already there.

Who said anything about wipe away? I just hope he starts changing the narrative about himself with a good start and gets us to a game 7. That would be nice.

though I'll give mad props to the way Edinson handled getting totally ****ed on that perfect 3-2 pitch to Bautista ... he didn't handle it like a Blue Jay, that's for sure. The ump was probably afraid to death of calling that perfect pitch a strike because Bautista would have ninja chucked his bat 3 miles ... the fans would have littered the field with garbage ... and Bautista would have bitched and moaned about it for the next 3 innings ...
Eddy just shook his head and moved on. Thank God. |

The Jays probably would have won regardless, I believe it was only a 10% swing. There was some serious debate about whether it was a strike or not, though, the pitch was that close.

I don't buy into that FG % bullshit. It's ****ing stupid.
The fact of the matter is ... as soon as he loaded up the bases with nobody out, the game was over. I know that as a baseball fan. 1st and 2nd with 1 out? No. Get out of that 1-0 and the Royals are still very much in the game. You're not getting out of a bases loaded, nobody out jam very often. That pitch should have been called a strike. Plain and simple. It was such a good pitch it fooled the umpire. Or the Royals were up 3-1 playing in Toronto so he gave the home team the benefit of the doubt / didn't want to put up with Baby Bautista and the white trash slumdog crowd of Toronto heaving shit on to the field for 30 minutes |

So you don't buy into the history of baseball, then, because that is what those percentages are based on.

No reason to be 'nervous' now. Back to the friendly confines of the Midwest.
(where you don't have to be worried about your infant child getting pelted with a beer bottle because of a bad call by an ump) Perks of the Midwest in the good 'ol USA. |

the history of baseball has nothing to do with the present of this series
I watched Boston battle back down 3-0 I saw the Cubs choke away their chance at a WS up 3-1 I know a few things: 1) The Royals are going to be favored to lose game 6. Price > Ventura. So I have a hard time believing the 75% figure people are throwing around. I give us a 65% chance to advance to the WS at this point. I'd rather be on the 65 side opposed to the 35 side ... but the 3-2 with 2 in KC is irrelevant. It's two 1 game series for the Blue Jays. We're going to get their absolute best shot game 6 ... and any advantage we have in game 7 is strictly due to the fact that our bullpen >>>>> Toronto. But I'd imagine our kryptonite, Marco Estrada, will be the first Jay out of the pen game 7 if needed. |

True, but if we get out of the sixth with the Jays up 2-0 or 3-0 there's a bigger chance that Gibbons would have replaced Estrada with Price.

Which we may be happy he didn't. We'll be seeing Price for the second time in a few days. We seem to light up Price about 1 in 3 times we see him. 0-7 in the playoffs - all the pressure is on him.

Look at the numbers. Price 22 innings against the Royals, 11 runs. I garuntee you nobody in that lineup is afraid of David Price
