We are an AFC dynasty if we go to the Super Bowl this year.

I think we have to win a couple more Super Bowls to be considered a league wide dynasty though.

Dynastys in the NFL are just so hard to come by these days. It makes what the Patriots and to an extent the Cowboys did so impressive. The great teams of the 60's, 70's and even 80's didn't have to deal with free agency or at least as much of it as teams do now. If you had the best team, there was nothing anyone could do about that for a period of time. Even then, the best team didn't win every year. It's just so damn hard to win the SB nowadays. Think of some of the greats of this era who won just one, Brees, Rodgers (he ain't winning another), Warner, you can throw Payton Manning in there for what it's worth (yes he "won" two but he was carried to the second with a different team).

It would seem almost impossible for PMII to "only" win one SB. But man I guess that is a reality that exists. I just want him to get number two to stand out from the Trent Dilfers of the world (obviously they're in a different universe, but rings are rings) then I can look at the possibility of a dynasty.

Defense is a huge factor. Manning wasn’t even good in his Colts Super Bowl run. Tony Dungy’s defense carried him through the playoffs, where he had 3 TD & 7 INT with a 70/158 passer rating. Mahomes has never had a great defense backing him, not even in 2019. Who knows if the KC front office will be able to develop that type of defense over time.

Dee ford lines up on the right side of the los
The DL shows up or Mahomes shows up for second half of Bengals AFCCG

Those 2 things happen snd this is considered a dynasty already.

The ring we’re winning this year takes us one more step forward…but not there yet. Gotta win this one then 1 out of the next 2.

The fact we’ve hosted 4 straight AFCCGs is impressive but to only come away with 1 title isn’t ideal to be considered a dynasty.

2 super bowls in 3 tries in 4 years in the current pro football environment is a dynasty, especially with our run of afc dominance

and if we win it this year, with the cap space we will have, a super team is coming to repeat

a lot of opposing fans love to scream about how we are not a dynasty

that screaming will increase in volume tenfold if we win another super bowl

a lot of losers in buffalo, los angeles and new england do not want to see it happen

This.

This X 10000.

We have the best QB playing in football, arguably the best QB in NFL history. Barring injury, if the next 5 years produce the same results as the last 5 years, I don’t think there will be any doubt he’s the best QB in NFL history.

We have the best TE in the NFL now, certainly 1 of the top 3 TEs in NFL history.

We have a HOF coach. I would say that we have a top 10 coach, maybe even top 5 NFL coach of all time.

Our GM has done a great job of building depth across the team. That happens when we have lots of draft picks and we hit on a fair number of them.*

I don’t care whether this is a dynasty or not. A SB ring this year and I have no idea how you could argue against a dynasty. That would mean: 5 AFCCGs in a row, 3 SBs with 2 rings in 4 years. Those great Steeler teams of the 70s were great for about 5 years. The Cowboys of the early 90s - a few years.

New England’s dominance for 15 years is unprecedented and failure to equal that dominance does not mean we are not a dynasty. The only other team that could be a ‘dynasty’ for so long that I could think of would be SF from the early 80s through Steve Young’s retirement. Out of all of those years, how many SBs did they win? 4 with Joe Cool and 2 with Steve Young. I know Young was the backup for 1 of Montana’s wins so they had 6 SB wins over roughly 15 years.

Green Bay? Great in the early and mid 60s and they were a strong contender with both Favre and Rodgers but how many SBs? 2 wins, 1 with Favre and 1 with Rodgers and that’s it over 20 years with those 2. 2 SBs in the 60s. 4 SBs, then, in their history.

How many teams have never even had this conversation? Rams. Chargers. Bears. Lions. Vikings. Jets. Bills. A number of other teams as well.

There will come a time when I watch football with my great-grandkids and Mahomes and Kelce highlights will come on. They will ask me about my wistful smile and I will tell them that they were magic. I will tell them that words do not describe what it was like to watch them. I will tell them that miraculous throws and 4th quarter comebacks were so routine that they were just taken for granted. I will tell them that Mahomes would be down by 7 points, 10, 14, 17. Didn’t matter. We expected him to win and more often than not, he would.

Enjoy this while it lasts and don’t worry about whether this is a dynasty. In a few years, it will be extremely clear.

This team is locked and loaded for bear.

NOTHING is going to derail this championship run.

Best QB in NFL history
Best HC in NFL history
Best TE in NFL history (and 2 more highly talented TEs behind him)
Deep and very talented WR group with no weak links 1-5
Top 5 OL
Top 5-10 DL (by years end, they will be in conversation for best DL in nfl)
Elite and very young LBers
Elite and very young CBs
Solid safeties
A couple RBs that are hungry and talented
Top 5 punter and kicker

The only team that can beat KC, is KC.

I think if Cowgirls were considered a dynasty with three Lombardi trophies then I think 3 is the minimum requirement but still need to be a dominate team or contenders for longevity.

Bills could be a dynasty but that sailed wide right.

We are not a dynasty. Like it or not we laid an egg vs the Bucs and choked out asses off last year vs the Bungles. Need to clean that stuff up. But we should have won the Dee Ford offsides year
