Hollywood is bringing back 'The Lone Ranger' in 2012!
As my avatar suggests the Lone Ranger was a boyhood hero of mine.
Clayton Moore perhaps could never be dethroned as the best Lone Range EVER. Hokey as their episodes are I can still watch the old lone Ranger and Tonto galloping on Silver and Scout to help the oppressed. That said, for a few years now, I have had this idea that we needed a Hollywood remake that adults would enjoy too. One that would get a Batman treatment for a darker, edgier Lone Ranger. This Lone Ranger would shoot to kill, instead of just shooting the guns out of the bad guys' hand. I really hope that Hollywood will not cop out on this. Thoughts?.... Cast suggestions. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1210819/ |

My list of worst, possible Lone Ranger guys would have to include (in no particular order) ...
1. Robert Englund 2. Keanu Reeves 3. Leonardo Dicaprio 4. Vin Diesel 5. Kevin Spacey 6. Cillian Murphy 7. Jake Gyllenhaal 8. Elijah Wood (although, he would be great at hiding behind rocks) FAX |

Worthington is gearing up for Avatar 2 & 3, which will be shot simultaneously, has the "Commando" remake, Clash of the Titans 2 and "Quatermain" on his busy schedule, so I'd guess that's not an option. There's no way they cast two TV stars in a $100 million dollar plus film to play with Johnny Depp. No way. And Aaron Ekhart has about as much appeal as Bill Pullman. He's a one note actor that couldn't carry any of the films he's been cast as lead. |
