I didn't say trade Hardman for Moore straight up. With Panthers already trading Anderson and IF Veach was trying to pull Moore away. I would think a cheap rookie deal WR like Hardman....WITH PICKS......would make trading away both your #1 and #2 receivers a little easier to swallow to your fan base.

Panthers get:
1st round pick
Hardman

Chiefs get:
Moore

See what I'm saying?

Could also use the same example for say CMC. They get cap relief PLUS a #1 RB in CEH at a cheap rookie contract that makes the deal happen easier.

It's an interesting scenario because although we create dead cap with Frank Clark for cutting him, freeing up that $30M for next year goes a VERY long way to getting a big acquisition now. Ideally we can wait until end of year but if his 2023 cap gets in the way of getting someone who can immediately help, it may be worth it to just eat it.
