Also trimmed some fat in that department on defense this offseason..

Veach wants a mean, fearless bunch... he made a lot of additions that should help with that too. Starting with Hitchens.

There was a video of Kahlil McKenzie sometime around draft day, showing his vertical jump. I was watching that video and it zoomed out, and some giant dude was walking by. I thought, "Holy cow, who's that guy?" I replayed the video and you could get a glance of his combine shirt, and it was Nnadi. I got a warm feeling.

That's only happened two other times. Derrick Johnson and Eric Berry. I never realistically humored that KC would actually draft a QB with Mahomes, so I liked Cook.

Things worked out. I just blocked the idea of drafting a 1st round QB to avoid disappointment.

You didn't want Tony G? That draft was awesome with the rumors of the Cowboys really wanting Tony G and them, reportedly, wanting to trade up to get him. The Chiefs then jumped up and took him instead. The Cowboys got LeFleur. So awesome.

Well, I was 15 when Tony was drafted and unsurprisingly I had other things taking my focus off of the NFL draft.

And no. Eric Berry, Derrick Johnson, and Glenn Dorsey. Those are the three times I was praying for KC to pick a guy and they did.

Mahomes, honestly, never sincerely crossed my mind. The idea of drafting a QB in the first round was something I just gave up on. I expected KC to take Cook or McCaffery.
