Who's in? I know we already have a few. This will be are 6th year and last year UTChief won it all with over 30 participating. It has been a lot of fun and I am looking forward to trying to win my 2nd as well. The rules will be posted when we put up the official sight but basically the odds are posted and most payouts are at 90% unless otherwise noted. You start out with 10k and we will move up the maximum bet to 5k seeing how tight the competition was coming down to the last few weeks last year. Phil may approach the way we put this together a little different this year but if not we will have a web page to place bets. Here are the people I already know are in.

Pretty good. I have a spreadsheet now that will calculate the wins/losses for each week. I just need to populate it with all the peoples names and each weeks games. The formulas are all in place.

A couple of questions though.
1. Do I take the 10% vig from all winning bets? I wasn't sure if the money bets do this.
2. Where do I get the weekly lines?
BTW lil momma wants in and for the sake of the household I better make sure she is.

09/02/05 147 Vikings(Minnesota) OFF +3 Over 42.5
Buy Points:
21:00 ET 148 Seahawks(Seattle) OFF -3 Under 42.5

OK this is how it works. Almost all over unders don't specify so there is a 90% pay out.

Now lets take a look at this bet

09/01/05 117 Packers(GreenBay) OFF +8 Over 40
Buy Points:
20:00 ET 118 Titans(Tennessee) OFF -8 Under 40

It doesn't specify payout so it is 90%

Now lets take a look at this one

09/02/05 143 Chiefs(KansasCity) OFF +3 (-120) Over 43.5
Buy Points:
20:00 ET 144 Rams(StLouis) OFF -3 (Even) Under 43.5

IF you bet the Chiefs in this game you will get 3 points but will have to bet $120 to get a $100 payout. If you bet the Rams you would be giving up 3 points but your payout would be even and would receive $100 for ever $100 you bet.

One more

09/01/05 101 Jets(NewYork) OFF +3 (-115) Over 36.5
Buy Points:
19:30 ET 102 Eagles(Philadelphia) OFF -3 (-105) Under 36.5

If you bet the Jets you receive 3 points and need to bet $115 to win a $100

If you bet on the Eagles you give up 3 points but wouldwould only need to bet $105 to win $100

Does that make sense?

It was my understanding that the money lines were for straight up win/loss. The point spread (+3/-3) is an even money bet (minus the vig if you win). Am I wrong?

My main question was; is there a 10% vig on all winning bets (spread, money line and over/under)?

Correct payout is 90% unless otherwise stated as it is on over/unders.

OK, I'm shutting this thing down. We have 52 entries, including my wife. She is signed up as Slammer. I'll get another thread going soon with the first week's lines. Can a mod throw the games forum link back up at the top so it will be easier to find?

Here is the complete list. Let me know if I left someone off.

So only 52 get to play...doesn't sound fair to me...if it's not open to the whole planet, then its more like a private club...with some players not even posting on the planet...

If you only knew how much work went into running the game I don't think you'd be running your mouth.

Wow. If you had asked nicely, I might have let you in. However, since you decided to whine like a two-year-old about, I think we have enough.

BTW, If you knew how much time I've already put into this, you'd understand why I can't add another player at this point. I've created a huge Excel workbook to track the weekly bets, results and standings. Adding just one more player forces me to edit 18 seperate worksheets, at approximately 20 - 30 minutes of my time. Sorry.

Pretty much. It's not an easy thing to do and is a lot of data entry.
