I don't now much about it but I do pick up stuff on message boards. I've read that "digital cable" is actually compressed analog as opposed to digital. i wonder if this could be part of he pixillation problem?

I know. I dabble in TV work. File compression is not my friend.

I don't care about the pixellation all that much anyway. It's not a show-killer. I consider it a fair trade-off for the joys of DVR. I don't know how I watched TV before DVR.

Well, over the span of six weeks, they replaced all the splitters and cable from the Cable Box/DVR to the telephone pole outside my house, as well as the DVR itself (this required 4 seperate service calls). Then they replaced some of the main line cabling. Then they replaced an underground feeder line. Then they finally fixed it by either replacing or repairing a trap that was full of water.

As a recent member of the HD club, I don't know how I watched games in standard def before.

I have my HD tivo hooked up to HDMI and my dvd hooked up with component.

The quality is out of this world amazing.

Comcast may be big enough to save Tivo. I don't really care. Diretv makes (or has made) it's own units now. I haven't seen any info, good or bad, on them.
