Kansas Football is going to go 10-2

Yeah, you heard me right. Look at this schedule, it is ridiculously easy. How glorious, KU should be able to sleep walk to 8-4. If they get lucky and play well 10 and 2 is not out of the realm of possibilities. Last year, KU was better than their record. They went 6-6 and lost just about every game by about 2-3 points.

Central Michigan
-WIN 27-17
SE Lousiana
-WIN 49-10
Toledo
-WIN 34-24
Florida International
-WIN 34-17
at Kansas State
-WIN 17-14
Baylor
-WIN 24-13
at Colorado
-WIN 17-14
at Texas A&M
-10-93 LOSS
Nebraska
-0-63 LOSS
at Oklahoma State
-WIN 31-28
Iowa State
-WIN 21-10
Missouri
-WIN 24-21 OT

KU could potentially be 7-0 going into the Texas A&M game before they get whacked, haha. Glorious.

They were, but the difference were we had weak non-con and we did well in the conference schedule, and usually did well in bowl games.

Let me ask you this, if KU wins all 4 non con games and goes 2-6 or 3-5 in conference, do they really deserve a bowl game?

Probably not. But if they get invited, I won't complain. We've discussed this before, but I'll say it again. I am tired of mediocrity under Mangino. I have defended him long enough. Anything less that 8 wins with this schedule will be disappointing (barring a rash of major injuries).

I agree, and if it doesn't happen, Big Lew may need to look elsewhere soon. They are investing all of this money into football now, we need to see results.

Tough to play strong opponents when they don't want to play you.

I don't know if I believe that. Snyder never scheduled far in advance and that bit him in the ass when trying to find premier opponents.

Now we have Auburn, Louisville, Miami, UCLA and Virginia Tech coming up...good lord, i'd feel fortunate to win any of those games.

Because of their soft-as-a-cloud schedule, KU could go undefeated and not finish even in the top 5 nationally...and, somehow, the BCS will continue to forever flourish!

http://tinyurl.com/27l2z8

From the Chippewa's website:
Central Michigan University has placed a league-high seven players on the MAC Report Online’s 2007 Preseason All-Mid-American Conference team.

Quarterback Dan LeFevour, receiver Bryan Anderson, offensive lineman Andrew Hartline and defensive lineman Casey Droscha were all first team selections. Offensive lineman Eric Tunney, linebacker Red Keith and punter Tony Mikulec were named to the second team.

LeFevour was also tabbed as the preseason offensive player of the year.

The 2006 MAC Freshman of the Year and MVP of the Motor City Bowl, LeFevour set CMU single-season records for passing yards (3,031), touchdown passes (26) and total offense (3,552) last year. He was a first team All-MAC selection and honorable mention Freshman All-America honoree by Sporting News.

After you lose to them, Toledo also has a good shot to beat KU, just like last year. Remeber, you lost to them last year?

Also you lose to Kansas State, Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M, Colorado and Mizzou at Arrowhead.

KU loses anywhere from five to seven games.

You are insane.
52-7 Hmm?

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Todd Reesing threw four touchdown passes in his debut as Kansas quarterback Saturday night and six different Jayhawks scored touchdowns in a 52-7 rout of defending Mid-American champion Central Michigan.

Reesing, a sophomore who beat out incumbent Kerry Meier after appearing in only three games last year, was 20 of 29 for 261 yards and no interceptions as the Jayhawks rolled up 538 total yards.

Brandon McAnderson, a senior who'd never carried for more than 41 yards in a game, had 110 yards on 16 carries and Jake Sharp rushed for 106 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown.

Raimond Pendleton scored two TDs, the first on a 77-yard punt return that put Kansas on top 28-0.

Central Michigan's Dan LeFevour, who threw for 3,031 yards and 26 touchdowns last year, never got untracked against a Kansas team which looked vastly improved from the unit that ranked 119th in pass defense last year. By the time two-way star Aqib Talib beat double coverage and hauled in Reesing's 49-yard touchdown pass to make it 35-0 with 3:07 left in the first half, the Jayhawks had outgained the Chippewas 333 yards to 139.

LeFevour finished 19 of 37 for 172 yards and one TD.

It was a tough debut for Central Michigan head coach Butch Jones, who replaced Brian Kelly and took over a team that returns 15 starters after going 10-4 and winning the Motor City Bowl.

The Jayhawks were leading 45-0 by the time LeFevour connected with Bryan Anderson with a 16-yard touchdown pass a couple of minutes into the fourth quarter.

Reesing found Derek Fine with a 3-yard pass on Kansas' second possession, then a few minutes later, freshman Dezmon Briscoe caught a 16-yard scoring pass for his first reception. Marcus Henry beat Kirkston Edwards on a 46-yard scoring pass play to make it 21-0 with 6:38 left in the first half, then 30 seconds later Pendleton crossed the goalline untouched with his punt return. Pendleton made it 52-7 when he caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Meier with 10:10 left in the game.

The Big 12 champions no matter who they are get a shit ton of respect.

No worries though, we won't have to worry about anything in this post happening.

I will just be happy if the Jayhawks can go on the road and win some games. Coach M's record away from Memorial has been awful. If we can do that then we have grown as a program.

I'm not making any guarantees about anything, just expressing how happy I am that finally we thoroughly crushed a have-not in the non-con. If we put up that kind of performance consistently we'll have some confidence for the conference season and just maybe steal a couple games that in years past we lose.

I liked what I saw out of K-STate last night. I think Prince has ya'll on the right track, which pisses me off. That or Auburn is WAY overrated.

I counted 16 Jr. and Sr,'s on K-State's roster of 22 starters. (I didn't count redshirt Sophs) So these are Snyder's players. The jury is still out on Prince.
