I don't know that it matters how durable Brodie is.

When Huard came in the offense looked better and scored. I'm not all Huard-pimping, I'm just saying that it's better to be stuck with jock itch than azz cancer...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

It is what it is, Brad. Thanks for being candid. This won't win me cool points, but Huard deserves to be the starting QB. He just isn't the future.

Which is a different issue entirely, and exactly why I hope the current regime passes on a QB if they are still around next April.

They'll gladly handcuff Croyle, who has the arm necessary to stretch the field and squeeze passes into tight spots - and not turn the ball over - yet they open things up for Huard, who looks like he's constantly throwing into a 30MPH headwind, and turns the ball over like it's his job.

This staff would do nothing but shatter any chance a young QB has of being successful in the NFL.

Part of grooming a young QB is letting him loose and have him learn from his mistakes. Which makes this even more puzzling - Herm has no patience for mistakes from Croyle or Thigpen, but he does for Huard?

You make a good point but Huard is lightyears ahead of the young QBs. He is just a lot more experienced than they are having been a #2 for Marino, Brady and Trent Green.

The Browns wont be giving up Quinn this year. I think they will wait and see how the season plays out to figure out if Anderson was a one year wonder or not.

Exactly.

They'd be foolish to part with Quinn until they knew for sure Anderson was the real deal.

• What does Tom Brady's injury mean? Well, besides the obvious end of New England's Super Bowl dreams if he's gone for the year, for one it means the New York Jets now have the best quarterback in the AFC East, in Brett Favre. That's a staggering turn of events for a team that reported to training camp with Chad Pennington and Kellen Clemens set to fight it out for the starting job.
I'm not saying that New England can't still win the division, but it would seem that a lot would depend on which veteran quarterback the Patriots bring in to fill his roster spot. New England isn't just going to go with Matt Cassel, rookie Kevin O'Connell, and re-sign the waived Matt Gutierrez. Chris Simms and Joey Harrington would seem possibilities, or maybe the Pats would still make a bid to acquire Damon Huard -- who nearly helped upset them on Sunday -- from Kansas City.
Any way you look at it, the Brady-less Patriots just got eminently more beatable.

Preface: I fully acknowledge that Brodie has an injury hustory and that will likely be his undoing in KC.

That being said, I don't know how the **** he was supposed to do anything about that hit. The hit came before he finished his drop and had no time to brace for it. If he would have had another half a second to roll his shoulders and take the hit it may have been different. But from what I saw, there was no way to avoid it. His shoulder was jammed into the ground. And I don't think if he was 10 pounds heavier it would have made a damn bit of difference. Moreover, if he has a sprianed shoulder, he's not throwing any footballs.

I understand that he has to stay on the field. That's a reality, but I think this injury is just part of the game, like we are saying about Brady's. I must reiterate that he IS injury prone and has to stay on the field, but IMO, this is a football injury, not a pussy injury.

All of his injuries have been on routine plays.

For Crissakes Huard got sacked the same way in the same game and landed on the same shoulder in the same way. He's 36 years old and didn't get injured.

BS...Croyle is a fraile vagina....I see QB's fall like that tons of times, even high schoolers. He is done, finished and should be gone.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

This makes zero sense. The biggest thing that slows pass rush is the running game. We ran the ball on all downs.

Yeah but when you run on 1st and 2nd down and still come out with a 3rd and 7.....the defense knows you have to pass.
