Well, seriously, the wolf looks a good 60 lbs lighter. I'm not sure if the suit is different because it is pre season and it is hot, or it is because haley wants EVERYONE in shape.

Impressions:
-Fellow CP'er DigitalTakawira and I have seats in 303, and the first thing we noticed was during the walk from Lot L. We come out of the tunnel (speaking of, they didn't extend the renovations to that tunnel. It looked like the rape tunnel from Irreversible after a nuclear bomb went off inside of it) and hear Cam'ron's "Let Me Know" absolutely blasting. We're walking towards the stadium trying to see what vehicle was playing it, and then realized it was coming from the new speaker array. We enter the stadium, catch T.I.'s "What Up, Whats Haapnin" and "Swagga Like Us." Even as fans of ignorant rap music, we were surprised to hear those tracks. Sure enough, about 30 minutes before kickoff, they switched to the buttrock we're used to, and if you think "Back in Black" was ear piercing on the old system, wait until you hear it on the new setup. I haven't listened to the radio today to hear other people's impressions, but I expect a ton of people to complain about how loud they had the music playing. -As far as the video boards, they are quite nice, but at least in this case, they were shooting 4:3 content, so replays were bracketed by either ads or a simple logos. Prerecorded content, like messages from the players and promo material took the width of the boards. -The new intro video is a catastro****, featuring some Lawnmower Man-level CGI showing two bootleg Transformers fighting each other. -KC's Wolf's thong looked more like a fully loaded diaper. -The Ring of Honor on the ribbon boards just wasn't cutting it for me. Flashing the players in between ads and sack dance animations just isn't the same. -Patti DiPardo's rendition of the National Anthem was ****ing terrible. Apparently that was her revenge for getting rid of the TD Pack Band. -We did a brief walk through of the lower levels, and it was pretty much what I expected. Wider concourses, new restaurants, so on and so forth. -Our side of the upper level looked exactly how I remembered it, even down to it being a madhouse just before and just after the game. |

I liked the new video ring, much better than the boring look it previously had. Times change, get used to it. I don't know by face many of the HOFers, so it was nice to get a pic when they showed the names on the ring. Concourses are much wider at lower level, food was pretty good, lines were short. Bathrooms much improved, no waits at any time (men's) Trashcans were overflowing, so they need to keep an eye on that... umm other than that, can't really see a whole lot of difference. The same 'feel' as all the other games I have been to (minus the whole expecting to win thing). I think the isles to the seats were wider as well, didn't have to wait forever to get up to the concourses at halftime.

Zooted summed it up well. Still a lot of construction going on, but overall I'm very pleased. I also thought someone was playing loud music in th eparking lot, but realized it was actually the new stadium sound system...whoa! I personally can't stand the rap music, but I guess a lot of people like it.
- New video boards are an improvement. ![]() - Video ring around the stadium is neat; it really lights the whole stadium interior up, but I wonder if players might complain about it interfering with the game. ![]() - New intro video not only sucks; it's an embarrassment. It needs to never be shown again. Whoever approved that nightmare needs to be fired, then shot. ![]() - Never, NEVER, let Patti DiPardo sing the National Anthem again. She has always screwed it up, and she was true to form again Saturday night. ![]() - Wider concourses are a welcome change; you no longer feel like you're walking through the NY subway. There's a snack bar every 5 feet, and plenty of TVs so you can still see the game. ![]() - Latrines urinals have replaced the standard trough; no more splash zones. ![]() - Lack of cigarette smoke in the concourses was also nice; all the smokers went to the "rings" at the four corners. ![]()

If you have been to other NFL stadiums with the 4:1 boards you would know that they are broken down into 16:9 with a 4:3 side. If you went full screen at Arrowhead with replays you wold lose a lot image top and bottom. I remember when Tampa tried that and you only would see a waist to neck shot during the replay. |
