I know that TinyE has the CP Weight Loss Challenge thread, but this is a new beginning for me. No losing weight for prizes, as that motivation ended on July 1st. This time I'm doing it for me. My goal is 75 lbs. Slow and steady wins the race. This time, the prize will be a whole new me.

Anyone else still battling the bulge? Here, hopefully, you can find more encouragement and tips on diet and exercise. Feel free to talk about discouragements, setbacks, frustrations, etc as well. We're here to help...at least I am.

That's what I do, I know there are some things I will never be able to never eat so I still have them I just don't eat as much. Portion control is every bit as important as what you're eating.

simple carbs vs complex carbs

simple carbs break down really fast and freak your body out and make you feel hungry even if your not.

complex carbs break down more slowly and don't lead to the up and down blood sugar levels.

Dessert should be a four letter word because the concept is about the worst thing you can do ... follow a full meal with some cheap sugar. Bad Santa!!!

in an hour you will feel "hungry" and stuffed at the same time.

Basically what I'm going to tell you is portions and moderation are keys. The idea that you will never eat or drink somethings ever again are far fetched.

If anyone can honestly say they'll never eat pizza or have a soda the rest of their life, that's nice me saying that is a lie and I know that. If you really like things it's best to try to figure out a way to work them into your diet.

Laz was saying sugar is the devil and I was just pointing out that unless you're eating protein or fat what you're eating is breaking down as sugar.

Pizza is high in fat, and therefore, an excellent thing to eat

Isn't it also a high carb food seeing as it has a crust?

I usually allow myself a cheat food on sunday and it's almost always pizza since it's far and away my favorite thing.

Sure, but doing it slowly = less insulin, which = less stored as fat.

It depends on the pizza. The pizza I eat is 70% fat calories (from the cheese).

For the last 6 days the only carbs I've ate are the salad I had for lunch today...I went from 211.8 to 206.4....that's nearly a pound a day.

I have a big beard right now so you probably couldn't tell the difference...

The sad thing is I didn't gain hardly any weight in my face so you don't see much difference there but I can wear smaller clothes now.
