Orton didn't even want us to claim him on waivers.
We fire Todd Haley mid season and the Pittsburgh Steelers hire him (after forcing their OC to "retire") Manning looked at the Titans as a better option for him. All he has done is bring in NE tree castoff after castoff...This draft will prove whether the strong drafts were him or Phil Emery. One things for sure...if we bomb the draft and the Bears draft is good...we can probably fire Pioli right at that moment. I swear, mark my words, Ricky Stanzi will probably save Piolis job in KC. |

And let me emphasize outplay. Because, IMO, it seemed that Palko has at least half the brain and testicles to play QB, but has none of the physical tools to do so. But somehow, a guy who couldn't beat the worst noodle arm since Captain Checkdown, will become a starter in the next seven months and lead KC to a winning record because that is one of the few ways Pioli can keep his job...? Wouldn't buy that with five days worth of house money in Vegas there, chief.

The starting lineup has some good talent, but damn does the depth on this team suck.

The Chiefs didn't make the playoffs last year, so spin it any way you'd like!
Manning is going to elevate the play of the players wherever he goes. Any team will be MUCH better with a better QB, so what's your ****ing point? |

The point is the Donks don't have anyone like Jamaal Charles or Dwayne Bowe on their offense.

Look at it this way.
Pioli left the Pats organization to get out of the shadow of BB. (A matter of wanting credit and recognition as well as control.) Why would he sign Peyton and then be back under a shadow, getting no credit if we have success in the years Peyton's playing, as well as handing over a level of control to PM? |

This - Peyton Manning not being willing to even visit with arguably the most talented team wishing to court him - this is the moment we realize that the front office is the problem.
Why wouldn't he want to play here? The roster is fine. It's the coaching staff upwards that don't look attractive to a QB. Are we surprised that Peyton Manning doesn't want to play for a head coach that washed out of cleveland and an offensive coordinator that washed out of Miami, and GM that fired an offensive coordinator during camp and spent all last year undermining his head coach? Why would we be? You can see Manning visiting KC and Denver and then deciding that Denver was a better fit for him. That wouldn't raise eyebrows. What raises eyebrows is that there is something about this team from the coaching staff up that makes a quality free agent dismiss Kansas City out of hand. That is a huge problem. |
