It's not like Alex Smith is ****ing young or proven that he's a franchise QB.
I think it's more likely that they swap with Philly and get Foles in return but I just hope they trade down and gather more picks.

There are so many guys that could have immediate impact, from Eifert and Ertz to Tavon Austin and so on.

Perfect stopgap contract to set up a Rodgers/Kaepernick scenario.

Do I want them to draft a LT #1? No. But, I think you have to be kidding yourself if you believe there's no chance it will happen. They did just trade away what amounted to a mid first rounder for Alex ****ing Smith.
The tag gives us the option of drafting an OT NEXT year. That's the beauty of this deal. Reid gets a full season to evaluate Albert and Stephenson and doesn't have to waste valuable #1 overall draft stock on linemen that they might not want or need.

Maybe they swap with the Eagles and take Geno/Barkley at #4. The Eagles need a LT and now they can trade up to grab one at #1.

Shut up.

Most of us know the Geno Smith scenario isn't likely. That doesn't mean it should be ruled out, because as of right now, they have complete freedom with the #1 overall. They can draft anyone (aside from a tackle) and it will look like a solid move.

Good point.

You know that and I know that but it seems there are a lot of people that think we can just get a bunch of LTs and plug them all into the line.
