It wasn't the most egregious drop of the game, for sure.

I think he probably should have made the catch, but people here are waaaay too hard on Kelce overall.

No they aren't.

He misses way to many easy things. Catches, blocks, etc. He loses focus. And that might be due to the fact that he is wanting/trying to make the big thing happen, but the first step is making sure you can actually do the big thing before trying to make the big thing happen.

I think he's got all the potential to be one of the best, if not the best. I like the guy a ton.

He just needs to pull his head out of his ass, focus on the now and then let the talent take over.

Saying a TE isn't quite Gronk isn't much of an insult. Gronk is ****ing ridiculous. Kelce is pretty damn good.

When Kelce gains more maturity he will be the best TE in the league.

Mark my words.

Gronk will probably be broken by then or I revise that statement to 2nd best TE in the league.

dude needs to stop looking in the mirror and start looking the ball into his freaking hands.

cost us 10 points yesterday which would kill us in any playoff game. Dropped a super easy catch at what the 15 yard line on 3rd down, so we try a FG from way further out than would/should have been the case and then we miss it. Now, we may even score a td on that drive if he catchs that ball.

Then on the very next drive, he's blocking in the back while our rb is streaking down the sidelines for a td?

He could be all world but to defend his play this year is beyond homer boner. Dude has dropped too many balls, fumbled too much and to many penalties to be a top 5 te!

You shouldn't underrate the TE position so much anyway. A great all around TE can be invaluable to an offense.

Is there any more valuable non-QB offensive player than Gronk? Maybe Adrian Peterson.

I'd take Greg Olsen, Tyler Eifert or Travis Kelce over a lot of 3rd tier WRs.

He catches 3/4 of his targets and has amazing YAC. Blocking effort is awesome. He either cleans up his mistakes or he moves his contract down to lower end tier 1 level. It's that simple.

Contracts tell you everything you need to know about the value of certain positions. WR>TE.

Of course a New England fan would argue for the merits of having a TE over a WR..

Good question for Asterix: would you take 2015 Gronk or 2005 Randy Moss?

So let's start with this -- assuming he is healthy (which isn't always the case of course), there is NO WR in the NFL I would take right now over Gronk for a single "must have it" game. Not Antonio Brown, or Megatron, or LBJ, or anyone else.

The reason is simple -- Gronk is not only a dominant receiver, he is also a dominant blocker when at his best. He's also the greatest receiving red zone threat in NFL history.

And i have simple proof for that one -- he has the highest TDs per games played of any receiver since WWII.

Quote:
1. Gronkowski’s average of 0.83 touchdown catches per game is the best by any player since Packers Hall of Fame receiver Don Hutson tore up under-manned NFL defenses during World War II (0.85 TDs per game).

Athletic phenom wide receiver Randy Moss is a distant No. 3 on the list. He averaged 0.72 TDs per game.

2005 Moss versus 2015 Gronk? Perhaps the most dominant WR ever versus the most dominant TE ever? Hell, give me either one, I'll be happy.

Gronk has played his entire career with a HOF QB. That's not exactly a fair comparison..

What kind of numbers would Moss have put up had he not wasted so much of his prime years in Oakland?

Jerry Rice had HOF QBs. Moss had excellent QBs by and large, including the exact same QB GRonk has, for a portion of his career. He only had two years in Oakland, but yes, obviously, take those away and his TD ratio is likely higher.

I'll say it again, give me either one and I'm happy.

Who is the idiot that says he is like Gronk? The only thing that is like Gronk is the position he plays, uni number and skin color.
