Chiefs re-sign Josh Mauga, cut P Will Monday
It appears that Colquitt will in fact be sticking around for another year, and Mauga comes back as some potential depth. They also signed Steven Terrell, former safety of the Seattle Seahawks. More significantly, who made this move is a ? considering we don't have a true GM right now. Last edited by pugsnotdrugs19; 07-07-2017 at 10:15 AM.. |

Tough to argue that with Reid's record and reputation that he couldn't save or essentially fire Dorsey, I doubt we'll ever really know the full reasons behind the June GM firing, my personal opinion is that Dorse was grating on a day to day basis and was disrespectful during the negotiation process and got too big for his britches and Clark ended up giving him a reality check. Shitty decision or not, I understand an owner of an NFL team telling a GM to fly a kite if he stepped over the line which even hinting about wanting to be involved with GB absolutely qualifies for in my opinion. I also always thought from day 1 that Dorsey came across as an annoying jackass in press conferences and what not, something about his mannerisms and his lip/gum smacking got to me but that's purely personal. |

KC had a guy, who's job was to manage the salary cap. They knew exactly how much money they had available.
No one has had a reasonable explanation of why signing Logan to an $8 million, nearly fully guaranteed contract, made financial sense? They knew they were going to have to cut someone to get under the cap to compensate...and Maclin's contract allowed for it. I'm wondering if Reid was out of the loop on the actual team finances...and Dorsey took the fact that they were OK with shopping Maclin as him being ultimately expendable. Was Reid made aware they were planning on cutting him to make the cap? Yes..this is just a theory but the Logan thing doesn't add up. |

I don't see how anyone can deny that Hunt must have consulted Reid before firing Dorsey. Reid and Dorsey were considered friends before KC and Hunt couldn't risk annoying Reid and risk losing both. Since Reid knew about the situation before signing his new contract, he had the power to save Dorsey and chose not to do so.
I realize the some around here are logic-challenged(cough, Dane) but even they should have the mental capacity to understand these basic points. I also don't see how Hunt would fire Dorsey on the very same day as announcing the new contract without Reid's approval. If for no other reason than to avoid raining on Reid's signing parade. Reid was clearly ok with both the firing and the timing of the events. Jmo but I believe that Reid wanted to send a message that he is King and Dorsey was fired for messing with 'All the King's Men'. |
