Let’s talk about the evolution of Sammy Watkins

This guy is MUCH better. There was a story in the offseason about Bieniemy coaching Watkins up on his ability to get YAC. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he looked better than he ever has after the catch on Sunday.

Sammy taking his game to another level would be huge. If he keeps this up and Hill comes back healthy, it could be the difference in getting past the Pats IMO. That version of Watkins combined with Hill and Kelce is the best trio in NFL history.

The icing on the cake is, if he has a career year and we have to lose him, we’re going to get a nice return. He’s still young. Somebody will pay up.

That literally doesn’t go against what I’ve said at all.

I didn’t say there aren’t other factors, but if he improved, he improved.

Good grief it’s like arguing with ****ing children. Do you even read my posts before giving your shit take on it?

Now the people that STILL think I’m wrong after the tweet I posted, yea those people clearly think they’re experts that have a better idea than the ****ing coaches.
By calling everyone idiots because they don't see what you see. It's extremely smarmy.

Literally no one even called you wrong until you got defensive and flew off the handle- that's the funny part. Some of us are saying it's just one game so wait and see, others are saying he's finally healthy and feels comfortable in the offense, the rest are agreeing that he actually does look better. You're fighting tooth and nail here for no reason, really.

Sammy's awesome. We all agree. Go Chiefs!

Oh, I've figured that out by now. But considering where the Chiefs were not that long ago, this is pretty great. At least IMO.

Did you even read some of these posts? There are plenty of people that disagree.

And I’m sorry, but if you couldn’t see it, you’re an idiot. I don’t know what else to say? Be better? Get a clue?

I saw it, Bieniemy saw it, others in this thread saw it. It’s right there for anybody’s eyes to see if they know what they’re talking about.

“He’s always been great after the catch” certainly implies that you think I’m wrong that he’s gotten significantly better. Why else say that? I said it myself that he’s always been really good.

Wow, I started off quite interested in the topic of this thread. I have been a fan of Sammy for a long time and love how he looked this week. I picked him up in FF specifically because of the things I heard during the off season about how much better he felt and how much more comfortable he was that he understood the offense.

But with the way staylor is treating this thread, I can't even get through all of the posts. So, staylor, great thread idea. Too bad you killed it.

Look at his 3rd td catch vs Ramsey. Look at his leg. It's like he's smuggling a baby in the back of his thigh. Dude is physically in his prime. He talked about taking his diet and workouts more seriously. You can physically see it in his burst, strength, speed and body.

The rest of your post is so ****ing stupid I’m just going to ignore it.

Watkins played the entire 2017 season with no foot issues. Last years foot injury was a separate injury that supposedly had little to do with the old one.
Yeah and in 2017 Watkins was 16th in YPC. I can't seem to find out how many of those yards were after the catch, but I'm going to assume quite a bit. You don't have to die on this cross just because you made this thread. Calling other people stupid because they say the biggest reason for his success is that he feels good and is completely healthy is really weird. Also it's only been one game. If you can't judge a player based on one bad game, then you can't judge a player based on one amazing game.

Can Mecole eventually replace Watkins? Maybe, but not this year, and maybe not in two years. Remember, it took three years for Hill to become what he is now. His first two seasons he really was little more than a gadget/kick returner. And he's still not the route-runner that Watkins is. Sammy is more than just fast. He's a veteran, great route-runner, with great hands, and an exceptional RAC guy. The Chiefs should do everything they can to keep him. Though I have no idea if that's realistically possible.
I will offer Veach one of my testicles to keep Sammy.
