That year was basically 2014/2015 Royals levels of "is this really happening?!?" for me.... granted, Kansas football wasn't the complete dumpster fire it is now, having gone to a few bowl games in prior seasons and sticking around .500 for several seasons. But, it's not something I religiously watched, either.

So, personally the loss wasn't deep-in-the-pit-of-my-stomach bad, like the '97 Broncos, the no punt game, Kansas/Syracuse... and then they get the Orange Bowl bid, so it was pretty quickly forgotten.

Granted, it's also been a decade and a half, so that's probably lighter than the reality back then (but still not nearly as bad as those other losses).

Not sure I could endure watching any more of whatever it is Missouri is playing on the court. It's brutally bad.

How often do you see SEC or B1G schools have annual games against Mountain West or MAC teams?

I would have no problem with the games continuing. It's been a fun series historically. But from a logistical standpoint it just won't make much sense for Mizzou much longer.

Hope Self knows what he’s doing in re-starting this series. For me, as long as MU’s program remains such a joke, there’s really no benefit at all to playing these games for KU. The games will be resume building opportunities for MU (although they are so bad this year, it won’t matter either way), but this is little different than scheduling a game against Towson or UTEP for KU.

They were clear champions in 2020 by any standard or poll. Very similar to the pre-BCS era college football champions. Is it your argument that all of the national champions in college football before 1998 were not national champions? Someone should let Nebraska know.

Would be kind of like the Montreal Expos claiming a Title for the 94 strike season cause they had the best record when the season ended.

The SEC does have some real powerhouses to deal with. Going off championship pedigrees Florida has a better blue blood resume than Kansas has this century. Do they ever update those things? I mean UCLA actually had an impressive run so I can see why they are grandfathered in, but Kansas really hasn’t done anything outside of the big 12 for the most part, yet they still treat them like a perennial March Madness threat somehow.
