Our perfect scenario would be for Mahomes to take over with Smith as a backup. Any chance ????

Nope. Reid has not had a QB like Mahomes, during his tenure as a head coach, for his entire head coaching career. I never found McNabb to be as groovy as some, but there has never been a QB of Mahomes caliber to enter Andy Reid's stratosphere until now. I fully expect for Reid to be crowned a coaching genius by season's end.

Mahomes must step up and show he can not only handle starting defenses.. but endure them over time.

Well for folks to give credit to an Andy team (offence) for win %....
and to not give the same credit for ... just has an unpossible credibility to it. ()

You want talent? McNabb, Westbrook, Staley? How about the one of the best DC’s in league history? How about a staff full of Tommy Brasher, Ron Rivera, Steve Spagnuolo, Leslie Frazier, Sean McDermott, John Harbaugh, Dave Toub, Brad Childress and Pat Shurmur? Is that enough “talent” for you? Reid had that much ****ing talent and lost at home twice to Brad Johnson and Jake ****ing Delhomme. He lost to those ****ers in the NFC Championship game. Don’t ever say Andy “needs more talent”. It’s a bullshit excuse that is the same as “Alex needs more weapons”. The mother****er had GREAT talent in Philly and couldn’t ever get it done. Ever. Mahomes alone isn’t changing Andy because his is what he is. He’s going to **** up in January like he always does.

Under this scenario, we do not have Smith's 17 million dollars to help out the salary cap. Smith needs to go so we can spend that money on some defense, plain and simple.

Reid and Smith are very interesting cases, and not surprisingly, have created debatable results and arguments among fans. In the end it's probably true that they were both a very good and very bad combination depending on the perspective. |

****, who knows? You are right about the defensive setup in Philly, of course. I don't want to understate Reid's ability to fist himself none too gently, but I would like to believe that certain elements which define a person's choices and career can come together at a certain place, at a certain time, and produce a much more positive result. If we're all going to sit here and throw the towel before the Mahomes era starts, just let me know so I can go ahead and take up a new hobby for the coming Sundays of 2018. You see, I KNEW that the road with Smith was going nowhere from day one. ANYONE with a modicum of common sense and franchise history could see it coming a mile away. Not so with Mahomes. This is TRULY a wild card. And **** Reid; I'll be DAMNED if I'm going to let him and his magic underwear ruin what will FINALLY be football worth watching.

Don’t get me wrong - alex suffers from tunnel vision at times. That is why he can be so inconsistent. It’s his vision. Happens to 99% of qbs sure- but you just HAVE to overcome situations as the leader.. it’s fun as hell seeing alex go off, he can zing it with the best of them when he’s on. But that 6 game stretch was just awful. He’s like your first wife.. you realize you shouldn’t settle for the first thing that’s willing to bone you multiple times.
