Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

thanks. I was able to spot quite a bit last night. I figured since I could rarely keep up with my squad who was spread all over the map, I'd concentrate on spotting (more than usual) and in the instances where I was close to a few dudes in my squad, I would lay down as much suppression as possible. I even got quite a few points for supression kills/assist (which was an awesome feeling lol).

I'm sure it'll get better as I get attachments/guns etc.

A couple of tips if you're new.

1)If you're on the Deploy Screen( which it sounds like you are quite a bit), wait for one of your squadmates to spawn so you can spawn on them.

2) Never spawn back at your main base if you have other areas captured unless you plan on driving or riding gunner in a vehicle.

Those two tips should keep you in the action and allow you to rack up points.

Another thing, my accuracy is completely gone when it comes to an XBOX controller versus a mouse and keyboard, so when I'm playing on XBOX Live, I usually go after objectives and support my squad and just go after the kills that present themselves to me. If you're more of a run and gunner type this may not sound as fun but it will keep you alive longer to get more points until you unlock those same weapons you're probably getting killed by most of the time.

Thanks for the tip. Yeah, after my first session or two, I figured out the spawning thing, which helped a ton.

I think the next time I play, I'm going to try to set up somewhere near the objective, to either defend or defend after we set the charge.

I did play 2 rounds last night before i had to run some errands and the squad I got hooked up with was really fun. for the most part, we moved together and when we were taking fire I was able to lay down a lot of fire for them to advance. Then I would advance and we'd be in cover where I could resupply their ammo. So those two rounds of play were awesome/fun as hell.

Last night a whole enemy squad landed by heli at the MCOMM station I was defending. I was hidden under some wreckage and when they ran past me I shot one in the back, then when they tried to blow the console I detonated the c4 charges I had placed there. I got a "squad wipe" ribbon and some major defense points, and my team got the heli they had landed.

Every day I play this game gets better and better.

And to think, 4 new maps coming?

Best $40 i ever spent.

Awesome, I always forget about placing C4 on the Mcom but I have good luck with claymores by the MCOMS.

I get a chopper in the air and then either sit there or go backwards. Drrrrrrrrrrr ddddddddddddddrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr so I don't need to do that anymore.

Honestly my hardest thing with planting C4 and waiting is staying alive. There isn't anywhere to hide that someone that's played longer than you doesn't know about. It works out sometimes, but more times than not I stink at this strategy. Part of the reason I'm better with Claymores, you don't have to baby sit those.

Yeah, it sounds nice to plant and keep C4 in some strategic location, but in reality, C4 is only practical for blowing tanks up. In fact, it's the best way to get rid of them. Mines are nice too, as they don't disappear when you die.

At least you get it to go a direction....I generally run into a mountain, or if it's a plane, crash immediately into the ocean.

I'm so horrible at them that if I get in to actually fly and I see another teammate get in with me, that I'll get out to spare them a quick death.
