Rumors: cleveland looks to trade more players: Josh Gordon
Josh Gordon Trade Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation Surrounding Browns WR
BY JOSEPH ZUCKER (FEATURED COLUMNIST) ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2013 ![]() The Cleveland Browns' fire sale may yet continue as the team has reportedly made wide receiver Josh Gordon available. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Browns are willing to part with Gordon along with fellow wide receiver Greg Little: ESPN's Adam Caplan adds that Gordon has actually been on the trade block for "several weeks": Gordon is returning to the field in Week 3 after serving a two-game suspension at the start of the regular season, following a violation of the league's substance-abuse policy. He came into the season with some lofty expectations after his rookie year, in which he caught 50 passes for 805 yards and five touchdowns. This news is exactly what Browns fans won't want to hear. It comes the same week as Cleveland essentially gave up on the 2013 season just two weeks into the season, first naming Brian Hoyer the starting quarterback over the banged-up Brandon Weeden and backup Jason Campbell, and then trading Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts. For a fanbase as tortured as the Browns' it will hurt to see yet another talented offensive player be pushed out the door. Only 22 years old, Gordon will continue to improve, and he's the kind of player a team can build a receiving corps around. The fact that Cleveland is thinking about offoading him is arguably more surprising than the Richardson trade. However, if Cleveland is really in rebuild mode, it would make sense to cash in now on its most marketable asset and prepare for the future. The trio of Joe Banner, Michael Lombardi and Rob Chudzinski have a definite direction they're taking this team. They're not afraid to burn some bridges in the short term if it helps the long term, either. Only time will tell if the plan works out. |

I think TE is an obvious target for a move IMO. I don't know if Marcedes Lewis is healthy but I'd consider him. Fred Davis wouldn't wow me be for a late rd pick he would help upgrading over Brock and protecting if fasano can't make it through the season. Obviously Gonzo is the best fit. If it's me and I'm stratigizing I try to make that move for a 4,5, or 6 depending on if conditional things are involved. And I would want that desicion done asap so I could move on to deciding on whether to pull the trigger on Gordon and If we have a player they might covet we could afford to give up with a 3rd and conditional 2015 pic, try that angle before gladly caving on giving up the first if they don't bite

Redskins desperate to dump Fred Davis. I'd offer a conditional 2015 7th rounder for him. |

Latest buzz on Jordan Cameron for teams interested:
Baltimore - their TE is out for the season I believe. Chicago Oakland - possible deal of high pick and player such as McFadden ( don't know why they would want him when he never seems to be healthy? ) In related TE news, Washington seems dying to trade Davis for just about anything in draft compensation. He makes under a million this year, but they have 2 TEs that are young and they feel are very talented. They just hope to get something and would be able to get the other young guys playing time and reps with RGIII over the remainder of the season. Cleveland is banking on hope that the Bucs end up at 1 as they are almost certain that they can move up or trade with them to acquire Bridgewater, but sitting with 2 #1 and 2 #2 the worry is if the QB status shoots up in the spring, during the combine, or at his pro day, during the predraft period, they might not have enough to secure the right to Draft their guy, and the feeling is Cleveland has taken QB after QB that wasn't their top choice at the position that they simply are determined to have the ability to take their #1 rated QB on the board. No 1b or 2, or 3rd option.
