Mahomes Injury Updates Thread

Figured it would be more ideal to give this its own thread than the Jaguars gamethread.

Unspoiler to see the first two updates

Spoiler!

UPDATE 3: Courtesy of King - High Ankle Sprain Confirmed

UPDATE 4: Got asked to add this report from Arrowhead Pride to the OP: https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2023/...chiefs-presser

You guys have GOT to stop with this shit. It reveals that you do not understand football.

One last time-it's called a 'zone blitz', where you send guys from an area that is unexpected, which means you have to drop other guys that you don't expect into the passing lanes to hopefully clog and confuse the QB. Nobody expects your DE to 'cover' an elite WR, they're just clogging the passing lane and there to confused the QB for a second.

When it works, you get a Sneed, Reid, or Mcduffie sack or a Watson INT in the Jacksonville game. Nobody complains when that happens. When it doesn't work, you get Karlaftis getting beat by a WR. You can't complain about one and not praise the other. It's a risky thing to do, but we can't consistently pressure with four, so it is what it is.

This game has the feeling of where Mahomes will feel slighted, throw his 4th touchdown pass of the day, and jog to the sideline counting something off on his fingers to prove a point only to claim after the game he has no idea what anyone is talking about.

I just haven't figured out what he'll be counting off.

Why does Spags insist on 280 pound defensive ends in a 4-3 when he likes to zone blitz and drop ends into coverage every now and then is the question.

Because he uses a zone blitz 6-8 times/gm.

And runs 40 plays that AREN'T zone blitzes.

So when you're looking at a 5-1 ratio, maybe focus on the 5 rather than the 1.

There isn't a panacea fellas; football is hard. The other coach knows what he's doing and is getting paid to beat you. There is no silver bullet here.

I'm not a conspiracy guy (other than JFK) and I don't believe the NFL is scripted or any of that shit.

But I am convinced that there are certain NFL officials that steer the games to cover the spread. I think they're probably degenerate gamblers or perverts and the mob has them in pocket or something.

Best thing that can happen for KC is a straight up pick-em, so it takes away any chance for 'steering'.

I know, I know, it sounds like tin-foil hat shit, but ****ing Carl Cheffers is ****ing corrupt, and you're not going to convince me otherwise.
