Jacksonville said something similar.

I've never seen a defense, especially good ones, come out and say that we just couldn't run with those guys for 4 quarters.

That's the underrated thing about Hill that so few folks realize if they don't watch the Chiefs every week. Even when he's not making a play, the guy's making DBs chase him at full tilt on every play. And he's not running a lot of short routes - he's forcing them into 30 yard sprints over and over again. He's in such remarkable shape that him and the waves of guys behind him that the Chiefs can throw at secondaries has them gassed by the 4th.
I had an extensive debate with a buddy about paying Hill just a few days ago (all under the assumption that he comes out of this situation pretty clean and they feel confident about his character).

I said I’d pay him long term in the range of expectations that are reasonable (something like 4 years, $72M with outs available if shit hits the fan off the field). My friend is against it altogether unless the deal is unrealistically cheap, which it won’t be.

I don’t think people grasp how much of an impact Hill has. He’s the 2nd MVP on this roster probably in terms of his impact on the opposition.

I’d have a different view too if our QB wasn’t Mahomes, but it’s a match made in Heaven. The guy can run all over the field and our QB can hit him anywhere at any given time. There are no limitations on his skill set in this offense.

Without Tyreek last year, I’m not sure Mahomes makes it past 35 TD passes. Honestly. And that’s me saying more about Hill than I am Mahomes, obviously, as I still think he’s the best QB in the league currently.

I should add that my buddy’s suggestion was that one Tyreek Hill contract could go toward 2-3 defensive players.

To which I say, one Tyreek Hill impacts the game positively FAR more than 2-3 above average defenders.

The thing with taking his money to defensive players is that it just takes away a strength trying to make another area a strength that I’m not sure you can make as strong.

The chiefs offense as currently constructed is potentially an all timer if things keep progressing
Do a few defensive pieces that are costly make the defense that good? Nah

This is an offensive squad. May as well steer into the skid and just draft your defense and develop them

On a deeper level, I think some of their more notable recent defensive moves suggest that they could feel the same way.

I think they brought in Clark and Mathieu to be ‘dogs’—to lead and elevate young, cheap players with their intense demeanor.

Probably why Denver kept Harris Jr and brought in Kareem Jackson and Bryce Callahan.

On paper with Fangio coming along, their defense should actually be pretty darn tough. It really should be.

Not saying they ever give the Chiefs offense much to sweat about, but there’s lots of potential there. Their offense though.... a whole other story.

I think that was exactly the idea. Production and tone setting.

Fill a role that Houston and HoboSpirit certainly wouldn’t.

Was Eric Berry the highest paid defensive coach ever in the history of the NFL?

Hill is absolutely irreplaceable. No one on this team can do what he does, and there's no guarantee that any of his "clones" will ever amount to 1/2 of his production.
There's a reason the Chiefs are riding this bullshit out and it's not because they're having a good time doing it.

100% - Mahomes and Hill have a legitimate shot at being this generation's Montana to Rice.

It's barely worth responding to.

Hill is the best deep threat since Randy Moss and KC has one of the best ****ing armed QB's in the history of the NFL.

I shouldn't have to paint a picture of what could potentially develop from that over the course of several seasons.
